I'm just wondering are all the CG 3D artists over here? I ask because the 3D art section is pretty much dead to the world.

Just to bring this to life. I'm a 3D artist too, I use Maya, Photoshop, as my tools to model, texture, render, and a touch of Photoshop for post-processing. Here so far is my latest work: http://www.cgpinoy.org/t11975p15-audi-a6l
Here is an Audi A6L Coupe car that I rendered using Maya and Vray for the rendering engine. Hope you like it.

Wow! That's an awesome render. :)
Unforutnately, I haven't been able to afford Maya, or Photoshop. I use whatever cheap programs I can find. ~L~ Another problem is my computer is way underpowered to be doing this sort of thing. I have to take every short-cut and memory reduction option there is just to get it to render the pictures.
Maybe, one of these days, I'll be able to afford better equipment. ;)

Thanks Arkine appreciate it.
Well, no software or program can stop you for being a great artist. These are just tools. Even if you use "Gimp and Blender" as a replacement for "Photoshop and Maya" you would certainly end up with the same result.
There are no such thing as a best program or software. You will only need to master the software in order to achieve what you really wanted.
How much ram do you have?
For now you could upgrade your ram for at least 4gb to render high-res projects.
You could buy a 2x2 GB of ram It's pretty much cheap nowadays.
I have an old system too, until now I have been using 2GB of ram for my renders that are limited only to 2048x2048 resolutions. If I go higher than that It would crash Maya.
