I intend to buy the new 2011 macbookpro however im not sure which to get with, the normal glossy screen or the matte screen. you see the glossy one has a black bezel while the matte one has no bezel so its silver.
Also, has anyone used a matte screen protector on a glossy screen before? how is the colour quality like?

I have used both the glossy and the matte finish screens. I like the matte screen because if I go outside with the laptop, I can still see the screen in the sun, with the glossy screen, the light just glares back at you which is really annoying. The glass screen is far clearer though. You get a far sharper image and the colours just look brighter and clearer. So I guess it depends if you will be using it outside or by a window where the light will hit the screen, or if you want the sharpness of the image quality.

what was your model? i heard from some sources that the older models (before 2010) screen colour quality is not as good as todays. no offence though, just curious.
Was the glare bad indoor? I know sometimes indoor light gets reflected on the glossy screen and at times the glare will block some parts of a photo that im editing, which is very annoying. Most laptops be it mac or pc have glossy screens nowadays

If you want high quality picture then you must buy the glossy screen - be aware that if it is exposed on direct light you won't see almost anything, so it is for inside useage.
If you're going to use it for working then the matte screen is what you need , because no matter where you are you will clearly see what is on the screen , though the picture quality is pretty rough - not that bad but still you'll not see real detailed colour and that might affect your work if you're designer or photographer.
I've never used the matte protector ,so i can't give oppinion.
I hope i've helped you a lilbit. :)
Cheers
