I went to a health food store and noticed a lot of products with the ingredient emphasizing it is made with cane sugar. Is cane sugar less toxic than granulated sugar?

Sugar in its granulated form can be extracted from many plants that have big amounts of sucrose. Cane is one of them and sugar beet is another. The word "granulated" has nothing to do with the type of plant it comes from (cane or beets) but with the granules. Granulated suagr is sugar that is not in the form of powder. But if you want to have powdered sugar (be it cane or beet) it´s a matter of putting some in the blender.

cane sugar is the raw version of granulated sugar. You will probably find that if it is in a health food shop, then it has additional vitamins and minerals that granulated does not have.
