I am not one to run to the doctor with every little sniffle. I had a sore throat for over 2 weeks....I decided to go to the doctor when my ears started aching as well.
Today, I can hardly hobble around. One of the side effects of this antibiotic is joint pain. |I have bad knees anyway, but they have been giving my no problem until today, my hips and shoulders now too. I am to take these meds 4 times a day for 7 days....I can put up with it, but even when I am sitting, my hips are aching.
I am only 43 years old, but is this what being old with arthritis feels like? I hope not.

I'm sorry that you are having the joint pain from antibiotics. I have joint pain for 3-5 days after every chemo session I have. Unfortunately I have those every three weeks so I deal with it (I have at least 4 more to go). I don't know if that's what it feels like to be old with arthritis, but I do know it is miserable! I hope that you feel better soon!

I'm not sure but I sure do feel sorry for you to have to go through all of that. My legs hurt sometimes too. I think mine is from lack of exercise.

Yeah I think its getting old. We have a girl we went to school with a few weeks ago waited to goto the doctors. She never made it she had a stroke. The autopsy came back and the stroke was related to a severe ear infection caused by a virus. So when it comes to side effects like joint pains I just push my way thru them now.

Sad to hear this Nadinest and do hope that by now it is a bit better. It does sound like in addition to it that you either have the flu or a really bad cold. So sorry because you are quite young but as we know it Arthritis has no age discrimination. Do ask you doctor as to how you can alleviate the symptoms because if in fact it is they will persist. Wishing you well.

In addition to sounding like severe arthritis, it also sounds like what I guarantee a severe case of the flu feels like. With a sore throat I think the rule of thumb is that if it goes on more than three days you get a sore throat checked. I am sorry you are sick, I am sure it feels absolutely miserable. If you can use a heating pad or other source of heat on the most sore joints it will help them relax. Get better soon.
