What do you think of the camera's being installed on the lights? It seems if you run a red light it will snap your picture of your plate and car. But the bad thing is. If the light turns yellow while your in the middle of the intersection it will still take the pick. Next thing you know you get a ticket in the mail for 175.00. Och!!!!!!. So if you think yellow is good don't. Cause you could rack up tons of tickets in no time. So would you stop if it is yellow or run on thru it and hope your safe, from the camera. Tell me what you think??

There is a white line that marks the start of the intersection. As long as you don't cross that line after the light turns red, you won't get a ticket. Have you noticed?? Seems like more and more people do run red lights. It is a very dangerous thing to do. Personally, I don't like the cameras. They should just have a policeman parked on the corner to catch them. Seems like the cameras just make it easier for them to make money.

With budget cutbacks across the board, police departments just do not have the resources or manpower to station a cop at each intersection. The cameras are a viable alternative. And they are on duty 24/7.

I guess this is one way of coping with traffic issues. it doesn seem like an invasion of privacy at times, but it is probably something that is done for our own good.

We have had red light cameras for years in my neck of the woods and I think it's a good thing. Yellow lights do not mean 'step on the gas'; they mean 'be prepared to stop'. More drivers need to learn this. I have seen too many accidents in the middle of intersections and have had many close calls myself because someone thought they could beat the light. They didn't. So, I don't think it's really about being safe from the camera. It's about being safe from hitting or being hit by another vehicle. If anyone's 'racking up tons of tickets in no time', they don't even deserve to be driving.

It's a good thing that they have decided to put cameras on lights at intersections, that's for sure. Now, that thing about the yellow light sounds pretty unfair. I mean, if you're in the middle of the intersection while the light turns yellow, you aren't breaking any rules (as far as I know). The camera should only take the picture of your plate if you are in the middle of the intersection while the light is - or turns - red. That means that either you disregarded the red light, or you have sped up instead of braking in front of a yellow light. Sadly, I've heard many cities have set the interval between the yellow and the red light to just 1-2 seconds, simply to earn more money by ticketing drivers. There have been many disputes, but in the end many drivers have been refunded.
