Thousands of people suffering from diseases for which there are no appearant cures are dying ever day.
Why are enormous amounts of money spend on fuelling wars, political races, arm deals, etc. without focusing on these primary things?
Will they eventually find a cure, will it happen during our life time, or not? Are politicians behind it preventing this from happening? Is the pharmacy industry too big and too influential, rather keeping on selling drugs which offer a part-relief?

hmm i know that there is a trial for a "cure" for aids but it is still in the earlier stages meaning it can take 10-20 years for it to become available in public.
Time and funding is really a factor when looking for a treatment for diseases. First they have to find a cure or a chemical that counters it. For this one maybe more than 10 years i think. then they have to test it another 10-20 years. and if that trial is successful, then it will be released in the market.
But if those trial are not successful, millions upon millions of money will be wasted so that is why its really hard to look for a cure.
government must be the first ones to push the medical industry to look for a cure or just fund it themselves.

All those millions of lifes of potential tax payers and tax$$ lost because no cure can be found or tested within 20 years. What a waste of resources. Isn't it cruel....? Aren't their any priorty programing funds available or is it put on backburner? Every year new nethods and potential cures are found (stemcell research, etc...) but nothing yet for those poor sufferers.

hmm from what i know, there are more than a dozen companies/groups/etc that is working on a aids cure. But i only know 2-3 that are on the very earliest clinical trials. But they are funded by private companies so you know what happens when they sell those things
well stem cell research is a good thing. Really glad that obama is for stem cell research. I am not a Us citizen so i don't know if the unbanning of the stem cell research on us soil comes with public funding. But if you want really something done, the government must push private companies to do so like what they did with the bird flu vaccines.

I will always be hopeful that cures for such horrid diseases such as cancer aand HIV are out there for us to yet discover. Giving up on that hope would be like giving up on life. it is not something i would want to consider. A cure has to be found and i truly hope it will be one day soon.,

Hi albert!
I totally agree with you in that countries should fund for the discovery of cures, NOT for WAR! But what can we do? They're too busy power-playing!
As for the cure, I think that we would not shed a light on the answer, if we can't even pinpoint the cause of this disease. The answer lies in our genetic makeup, but we have not yet uncovered everything that a specific DNA strand is responsible for. Cancer is a Freak Accident, and can we really prevent freak accidents?
But, I hope, I pray that a cure will be found soon.

I understand that all of us (!) carry cancerous cells within ourself. Outer cirumstances, life-style, age,........ trigger them and make them active. A sad, sad story as I think that there should be done more (or perhaps it is but held back?)
