A dream within a dream

There are some times where I am sleeping and having a dream. Then I appear to wake up. However, there are sometimes where I don't really wake up, rather the dream I was having, was a dream of my dream self. It is quite intriguing to think about it. These dreams within a dream, the fact that I was dreaming that I was sleeping and having a dream. Quite surreal to say the very least. I don't hesitate in saying that I am far from the only person to experience this strange thing.

There are a couple of intriguing dreams that I have had in the past that I wish I had not remembered them because they are borderline disturbing. Well don't remember them right now but I remembered them right when I woke up. I really did wonder why I would dream such of thing. It had disturbed me to say the very least, some of the things that I dreamed. Of course, it is very common not to remember your dreams. Of course, even those who do remember their dreams, it would have to leave quite an impression. It would be a rather vivid dream. There are many things that we do remember that we have dreamed. However, there are many more things that we don't remember that we have dreamed. Thanks for responding. Its appreciated. Have a nice day.

Hi megamatt, Yes, I too have had such dreams several times. The common one is simple. You sleep and if you are prone to dreaming you dream or a dreamless sleep. The second thing is a little complex. It so happens that you are thirsty in reality and that has entered into your subconscious and conscious mind and you feel as if you have taken a full glass of water and your thirst has not been quenched. You feel sure you are awake but surprisingly you can not move. At this juncture you suddenly come to your pure sense and discover your heart pounding. I too have not understand why such things happens like play within play. Nice discussion.

Those reasons do really make a lot of sense. The field of dreams are rather interesting, as there is so much that has been guessed. The human mind is really a tricky little thing to say the very least, with how it processes information, how it leads us throughout our day to day life and how it gives us an opportunity to really perceive a lot of the reality around us. It was rather surreal to go from that dream world to the not quite real world and then every single thing just keeps bouncing around. Waking up in that state does feel a bit weird. Especially considering the dream was so vivid that I almost felt as if I woke up. Quite fascinating, no matter what angle you look at it. Thanks for responding. Its appreciated. Have a nice day.

Almost 9 months back I was seriously ill and was admitted to hospital. Seeing my worsening condition I was taken directly to the ICU. My wife told me later I was sense less for 22 hours and according to the doctors I was proceeding towards Comma stage. Well, I wanted to is that though I was not in my sense and though came to sense for some moment I could not recognize people well. But all those hours I was dreaming and dreaming and interestingly I still remember them. In real life we forget our night dreams very fast. It is nine months bot the chain dreams still flows into my mind and I feel disturbed. All I knew at that time that whatsoever was happening it was in real life and I was reacting accordingly. How would you interpret it?

I have "false awakenings" meaning that I have dreams where I "wake up" and try to go about my daily routine or go to the bathroom or go back to sleep. I hear it's a pretty common hazard of frequent lucid dreaming (having dreams where you know you're dreaming). I've also had dreams where I was going to sleep and when I "went to sleep" I actually woke up. But I don't know that I've ever had a dream where I went to sleep, had a dream, and woke up again.

I have had dreams before where dreams seemed to be inside another dream. it is an eerie feeling to have and can leave you feelings of wonder and amazement that dream can be so real.

Very, very eerie to say the very least. It is rather intriguing to say the very least. I am just there, sleeping away, and then suddenly, I feel as if I wake up. Therefore, it really does throw me for a loop when I actually wake up again. A part of me wonder if I had woken up for a rather short time but drifted off to sleep and not realized it, or it was really something rather more deep. Still it is very interesting to say the very least. I can just imagine some of the great things that will come through with dreams. I enjoy looking at all of these things. Granted, I can think of them, going back and forth, with all of the things that we know, there are so many things in this interesting world of dreams that are unknown. Still dreams within dreams are an interesting curiosity. Thanks for responding. Its appreciated. Have a nice day.

You are not the only person but it is quite interesting definitely. I haven't had one of these in a long time. I always like to see if I can find the meaning of the dream especially when it's really vivid I think there's got to be a reason that you remember it. I go to a website called dreammoods.com if I remember my dreams to see if it can help me figure out what's up. I looked up what dreaming about dreams meant on there and it had said you may be worried or fearful about something or that it can can also be a protection from what you are feeling. It says that it can allow you to confront difficult feelings that may be too painful in a direct dream. It's quite interesting that is just a really bad summary you should read the whole thing it's very short. Also check out the movie inception if you haven't seen it, it's definitely not what you're experiencing but it's a cool view of the topic.

I figured I was not the only one to experience that. It is very intriguing to say the very least. There are a lot of things that it could mean and perhaps it just means absolutely nothing. That is the awesome thing about dreams a lot of the time. There are times where there is no right or wrong answer. We just dream and really whatever happens, does in fact happen to say the very least. Still some very intriguing theories to say the very least. It really did get me thinking never the less. Never can think too much about the human mind. There are many times where it does in fact work in an insane, absurd way to say the very least. Still looking into this a bit more, it does happen a bit more than one might think. Thanks for responding. Its appreciated. Have a nice day.

I believe that's what a lucid dream is. Dreams can sure be strange sometimes. I have always been interested in what certain dreams mean. You are lucky you can remember your dreams. I seldom remember mind.
