Do you get a lot of comments saying "I had a similar post" OR "I just posted that"?
Literally there are so many members on myLot- all over the world and we can think of the same things. Plus, I am sure the topics we all have asked, has been asked before so I don't know why people are claiming it's their topic that they had a similar post or they posted something similar like that.
Yeah, you can claim your post if it was copied and pasted but if it's not then why bother even mentioning it?
Does this happen to you too? Where someone would go "I just posted that", "I had a similar post"

Hi infatuatedbby
I do not start many and to date I have not been told that the few I have are similar, but I have read a lot of responses and or comments on other discussions that members do point this out to the discussion starter.
I really do not think they should point outright about them doing so as well, they can place their opinion and perhaps apply their link and say here are some examples of a discussion I once did which may be helpful to your topic. I think this would be a better route.

I have had people saying that they either posted similar or it has been posted before... but it doesnt really bother me too much..
I find that if i feel that something in my life or online has been inspiring.. I will come on here and post or search for it. then might comment.. At times really want to comment on loads of posts.. but feel that if I can't find much to say, will leave it and move on to the next one.
Happy MyLotting!! x

I agree, great minds think alike. Which is a good thing, I've had somebody say this to me before, and I've said this to someone else before, that we have similar topics. I agree with one mylotter as he states, there is nothing new under the sun. I do think it is important to do a mylot search before you answer or post discussion questions. I tend to do this quite often just to make sure I don't duplicate someone else discussion already.

I second that. I'm tired of seeing people say that and make discussions about how someone stole his/her discussion or plagiarised and stuffs.
There are so many people here on mylot and I feel at least 5 of us may be thinking of the same thing. Those rants are the reason why I don't make much discussions these days. Coz I may mistakenly have the same topic as someone and may get blocked by mylot. Life's not fair lol
Oh and the other thing, I was about to start the same discussion but I'm glad I saw this. Happy mylotting =)
