I never like eating vegetable salad, but I know it is good for our health and it will help me lose weight. The problem is that I don't know how to make salad dressings. I mean simple salad dressings, there are lots from the internet but I want something which is already tried by mylot users. Some ingredients found in the internet are not easy to find in the grocery stores so I want something simple aside from the usual mayonnaise.

Hi. mariacecilia13. I have eaten salad dressing out of the grocery store. This is the only salad dressing that I can ever think of to buy. Maybe you can try combining tomatoes, diced cucumbers, celery and then you can add some kind of seasoned oil to it. This can be of your choice though. This could make a type of salad dressing. I hope that you will be able to find the perfect one that pleases you.

Thank you! I hope it will be easy for me to find those in the grocery stores. I never tried eating celery before, how does it tastes? Thank you for the response. =)

I suggest you attend a training course in a culinary school. You will be taught all the steps you need to know to prepare your salad or as you said salad dressing. Have a lovely day and stay blessed. thanks

Hi! That's a good suggestion, however, currently I do not have the time and the budget to attend to a culinary school, but I hope someday I can. Thanks for the response. =)

Most of the green salads I eat (made by myself) have dressings that are very easy to make. A simple vinagraitte (salt, pepper, oil and vinegar) is wonderful for lots of salads and it´s the one with less calories. You can also put lemon juice instead of vinegar. When I make my lettuce, celery and avocado salad, I prefer lemon to vinegar.
For a tomato salad it´s just oil and salt plus thinly sliced raw onions or chives.
A more complex salad, like greens with feta cheese, diced not so ripe tomatoes and sliced sweet pepper will get along well with some dry oregano and some parmesan cheese as topping (plus the vinagraitte, of course).
As you see, it´s not hard to start playing with the simplest herbs to add a zest. Try your own. If you are trying to lose weight, forget the mayo if you can.
Take care!

Thank you for all the salad dressing suggestions, I think I'll first try the vinaigrette, sounds very simple and I think that is the usual salad dressing I see in cooking shows. I just need to look for fresh, crisp vegetable to go with the dressing. Thanks for the response. =)
