I am more than 50 years now! I can recall and count the number of days when I had a sound sleep without having any dreams! I normally don't have dreams if I take any medicines to have a sound sleep! I recall I never dreamt when I underwent surgery for my appendicitis! Otherwise, practically I dream almost every night in my sleep and I don't have any patterns of dreaming! I dream on any subject ! Sometimes my dreams carry some sense and most of the time they are senseless! I see people in the dream whom I never met before and interact with them! If as said by many people that dreams are the expression of our subconscious mind, then who are these strange people which I don't know but my mind knows? LOL! How frequently you dream? Do you have any fixed pattern of dreaming? Please respond! Your rsponse will be highly appreciated! Thanks !

I go through stages where I dream a lot and then don't dream at all. I also go through stages where I have good dreams every night and then some where I have bad dreams every night. I wonder what influences these patterns? I have always wanted to study dreams and the reasons we have them and why we have the ones we do. Recently, I have been having really bad dreams, and they all have something to do with something that happened during the day. I wake up sweating and panicking and then don't want to go back to sleep afraid it will continue on. It has been happening a couple nights now, so I am hoping that stage is over! A lot of the times when I have dreams and wake up in the night, I will remember waking up in the night the next day but I never remember what I was dreaming about. In the last couple of days, when I wake up in the morning, I have remembered every detail of my dreams, and these are the ones I don't want to remember!

Hello Dear misc! Your observations are quite right we may not dream continuously there may be some inturruptions too! Some times the dreams may be happy ones and at the same time they may be of sad natured! It is natural to dream bad dreams about the bad experience what we have had during the day time in our work! these are subconscious thoughts or fears we have had which are manifested in the form of bad dreams or night mares! And unfortunately we tend to remember these night mares more than a normal or some sweet dreams we have during the night time! I think most of us have the same feeling when we get disturbed and get up while having a night mare and would like to stay for some time to prevent our brain to enter the same dream again! It is really some thing very funny that we are successful in our attempt in preventing the night mares by doing so! Thanks for the response!

I dream a lot even in the afternoons, like when I was dreaming of traveling around the world, dreaming of having so much money that I can built a good school and hospital and of course some villas as well... Yes, most of the time our dreams are senseless.

Hello Dear jennyze! I am happy to know that you are not only a good dreamer but a day dreamer too! It seems you are saving a lot of money by ravelling all around the World in your afternoon sleep! !! Keeping the jokes apart I must appreciate your kind and soft heart that you are thinking of constructing schools and hospitals with the lot of money you are having in your dreams! May God bless you and may your dreams turn true! Yes, most of the times our dreams are just admixture of various things suddenly one mixing into another making them senseless! Thanks for responding and extremely sorry for being late in replying! Take care, All the best!

According to science, the majority of people dream every night.. they just don't necessarily remember their dreams. I can recall dreams pretty much every night. If I don't recall any dreams then I usually don't feel rested... lol! I've been keeping a dream journal since I was 12, and I also have a variety of dreams. I read lots of high fantasy novels so having dreams about dragons and epic quests to save mankind are not unusual for me. I have lots of apocalyptic and post-apocalyptic dreams, not sure why. Then I also have mundane dreams about doing homework, riding the train, or have a technological battle with a cash register. There are patterns (that cute boy certainly shows up quite a bit. ), but they do tend to be all over the map.

I oftentimes dream about people whom I don't know too but maybe that's because I did meet them somewhere like in a mall before or anywhere random in my everyday life. I sometimes dream of what I wanted to do in the future and ended up waking with the knowledge that it was just that... a dream. But still, it was weird when I dream of something that actually happens later on in my life as well as something that makes me feel like it's deja vu all over again. Those kind of weird things.

Hello Dear franne!I agree with you, I think those strange people with who we interact with in our dreams must be the people whom we have seen some where in our life time and possibly their images might have got caught in our brains! Dreaming about the future plans or about the present project/work if we are having with us presently shows our subconscious thoughts which are manifested in he form of dreams! It is really interesting to know that you dream about your future which later on turn out to be true! Though in our country the old people say that the dreams we dreamt at the early mornings turn out to be true! But I never experienced any thing like this so far! You are really a blessed one and lucky one who can really turn the dreams into the truth! Thanks for responding!

hmmm.. no they don't have a pattern but most of the time my dreams are related to the happenings in my life I just wish they weren't coz I was hoping my dreams could be momentary escape to reality.. -.-

Hello Dear grazmaniandevi! Yes, every one want to have an escape from our day to day tensions and stresses by dreaming some thing pleasant! We want to be in our fantasies or in pleasant dreamland! But unfortunately this thing happens very few times in our life! Often we are ended up with the subconscious thoughts of the brain being manifested as dreams when we are sleeping, which makes us more tired some times! I think this is a common phenomenon occurring with every one! Thanks for responding!

I know I am dreaming because most of my dreams are not real. Now I tend to think that there is only a tiny difference between the dream world and the sensory world - but that is very hard to know you're dreaming , and lucid dreaming is a conscious dreaming technique that I heard that it is as real as the reality we live in .. there is no fixed pattern for me but I am certain that some things that repeat themselve as stress in said reality is going to represent some symbolism in some of my dreams . So "once in a million years" I will probably have a sound sleep

Hello Dear casualk! You are right lucid dreaming can be a conscious dreaming technique which can be very close to reality1 Many a times we tend to dream about the things happening in our life or would likely to happen in our life which are speculative in nature! there is constant conflict in our brain about the outcome of such events and these things are manifested in the form of dreams! I think age and the preoccupation of a person also have frequency and nature of the dreams! I am happy to know that there are many people like me who dream on regular basis ! Thanks for responding!
