A lot of people have been talking about this. For some reason he hasn't provided a birth certificate. As far as I've heard he was born in Hawaii and last I knew that was part of the United States so there would be no problem. Has anyone heard anything else about this or seen where there was proof?

This has been going on since he got in as president. The reason there is so much controversy is he spent 2 million dollars to keep every item even school and health records under cover.
McCain was the Republic that ran against him and this poor man served in the military during Vietnam, was a POW, and there were issues over his birth certificate.
In our Constitution it states we are to be born in the U.S.
Yes Hawaii is one of our states.
Obama tossed off a short form of his birth certificate.
Not the original long form which is legalized by every state.
I served in the United States Army during Vietnam and Gulf Storm. I had to show proof to get in the military. I had to prove I had graduated high school, had worked in the profession I wanted to do in the military, pass all my ASVAB tests, health physicals even had to give my blood type, and yes they wanted an state comfirmed birth certificate.
If every military person going in and defending their country has to do all this on an every day basis, then why shouldn't the President of the United States have to prove and show his?
I know if I was in the military I would not have the respect for our Commander in Chief since he is not following protocol that is expected of everyone else.
Some people say its a black issue, others blame politicals, to me having served and defended my country I consider it a human and moral issue.
When the newly elected officials of Hawaii cannot even go down the hall in their office and find or get to see the birth certificate that is so highly a provocative discussion every day for the last 2 years, then although we want to assume we are wrong...there are wonderings in the back of many peoples minds that have had no problem showing what we need to do to do our job, or serve our country.
Hope we all find out the truth someday for real.
I am one of the wonderers for my own reasons.

mikey6000le,
A the website factcheck.org, they have a pretty comprehensive article about this very subject. At that site they actually saw, touched, and provide photos of said certificate, and they also show a newspaper archived announcement of his birth in Hawaii. The link is http://www.factcheck.org/elections-2008/born_in_the_usa.html
I know that there is still a lot of controversies about this, and I need to read more about why people are still doubting this, when all of this evidence seems to prove differently. I'm not sure what the current argument would be. I've got some more reading to do!

Thanks for the link. I didn't know about that. There will always be some people that won't believe it even if they saw it themselves.

You are welcome! I dont get the whole thing either. I dont understand why people are still questioning this, but maybe there have been other things that have come up. I do like that factcheck.org site! They seem to be checking the facts on all sides, and not just for one political party. Thanks for responding back!

America is still racist. I am lucky to have been born close to New york where there is some diversity. I would hate living anywhere else.

Yes, it is racist and so is the rest of the world if you think about it. As far as I know every where here in the USA has some diversity in some way or another.
