I sympathize with you. I live in California and have felt a 6. quake. The initial quake is scary but what always makes me nervous is waiting for the aftershocks. Also one never knows if the first was a foreshock and is a bigger one coming.
Still I rather take my chances with earthquakes than hurricanes or tornados...

I am always trying to keep track on international news. This helps me to be aware and be prepared for the calamity. I live in Philippines and is one of the countries always in danger in terms of earthquake and tsunami. Let's PRAY for our safe and salvation.

I'm terribly sorry to hear about the quake. I hope everyone in Indonesia are okay. Not to fear-monger, but I think that you should probably give this a quick watch. I found it on another site's thread and have been feeling the same way recently, that something bigger is on its way. Please be careful and take any precautions that you can.

My goodness that would have been scary! I live in Australia and fortunately where we are located there are not often earthquakes but that is not to say it will never happen of course, I sympathize with you because when I lived with my parents in Italy many years ago we used to experience strong tremors on a regular basis and, because we lived on the fifth floor we had to run down those stairs every time. I was only a kid but I do recall feeling very scared! I am very thankful there has not been a tsunami where you are. I will keep you in my prayers.

Hi adhyz,
Haven't been in MyLot lately, and it's a shock to hear what have hit you. I wonder I haven't seen it in the news at that time, too.
It's been almost a month since the earthquake, hope everything's alright and you and maybe your family/neighborhood also don't have some sort of trauma or any such a thing.

I do not think there is always a tsunami, but I am very sorry that there was a strong earthquake that scared you. Other than giving out warnings and preventing looting, what can a government really do about a natural disaster? I suppose it can set up emergency shelters.

The weather seems really crazy recently and it is scary. We are being flooded by the rains that we are having and so many people are in fear of what will happen to their homes. Yesterday, the pastor of our church spoke about how many more earthquakes there have been this year versus how many we have had in past years. I am hoping the you do not have a tsunami and I hope that the weather pattern settles down all over the world.

I am glad to know that your city is safe but please continue to be alert. I am scared of earthquakes (who isn't?) and now tsunami scare is everywhere. I saw videos of tsunamis and it really is very unforgiving, people and infrastructures are helpless and look like toys when swept away.
Be safe.

I was away today so I have not seen the news yet. But I understand and fear earthquakes and tsunamis, our country being one of the countries most hit by them.
I am glad there was no tsunami. It seems that the ocean waves arre far worse than the trembling of the earth.
Take care!

I feel sorry for you my friend.I know how you feel at that time and it's really frightening, considering if there still a bigger one coming.I guess you can't blame anyone if ever they are put in same situation.Maybe you can't move or you run because you are in panic but the best thing to do is stay calm and remain in control of yourself so you can think positively in a way you can protect yourself just in case of any possibilities like what you said tsunami.

Humans can be very silly at times! I have felt many small shocks and somehow wish for a big one. It is as if I am missing out on something - lacking experience or something like that. Of course, when a big one comes, as eventually it must, I wont be happy about it. Isn't this the kind of foolishness that government employees are facing too?
