Two months would soon finished and school will soon open before you know it. As early as last week, I started visiting bookstores to see the prices of notebooks and other things for school. I found at the there is a sale at first store I visited and immediately bought 4 notebooks and I'm planning to buy the needs of my children before the end of this week. This is the first time that I bought a branded and expensive notebook for my daughter because it offers an almost 50% discount. These notebooks seems to be unsold from last years inventory but the pages are in good condition. The only problem is the cover which is pure gray or the ones which have different cars. For me, the cover does not matter for I could put a dainty colorful paper to cover it. What matter is the quality of the paper inside. It was good that I started to buy earlier than the rest because the price is still not too high unlike if I will buy it during the school openings.
I will also start to laundry and fixed their old school bags. My girls are not too particular with branded or new things, they could easily understand that we are trying to save money. On the next days, I will bring their old skirt to the tailor shop for repair. But I need to buy them bought a new shoes for I wanted them to be comfortable as much as they could. The shoes carries their weight and they traveled long from house to school and vice versa.
New and beautiful school things does not guarantee that children will do good in school, my girls doesn't ask for anything which they think would be too much... I am lucky that I have 2 sensible daughters.

This is good. Being practical nowadays is the best thing to do, especially with our ailing economy. Its okey to save for the rainy days and yeah, you're really lucky to have understanding daughters. I hope lots of children will be like them. I want to congratulate you also because they became like what they are now because its how they were brought up by no other than you

Thank you, educating our children doesn't mean to teach them everything that was written in the book, more importantly is to teach them how to love, respect and the other values in life including the practicality and how they would be successful in life. I was too lucky because my children does not have the attitude of being jealous or envious of each other or even to other kids. I can bought a little for one of my girls today and a little for my other daughter the next time I have money. They understand it and I'm too happy that there is no issue at home.

That is definitely a great idea. When back to school comes, the lines are going to be crowded, and there is no telling if the supplies will be on sale or not. It is great to hear you have daughters that are very sensible. Kids these days, especially the girls, need to wear makeup and big brand name clothes all the time, even in school. It is very upsetting to me that girls think they need to go to such lengths to be accepted.

It really is wise to look for the best deals out there on school supplies while it's still too early. I remember when I was still a kid. My mom would buy the things I need as early as April too so that we get to choose the good stuff at low prices and the cashier lines are still short. If possible, I checked my notebooks from the previous year and looked for ones that were barely used. I would tear the few pages with notes and keep them, then reuse the notebook for the next schoolyear. Because I studied in one school my whole life, I reused my uniform as long as they were still "wearable". We only bought new shoes when the old ones got really destroyed. I didn't think as a kid that I would need new stuff every schoolyear because that would be a waste. I think it's one of the good things my mom taught me.
You sure are lucky to have daughters who understand this concept at an early age. They well benefit from it for life.
