Hello Lotters,
I just wanted to say how happy I am that our Electric Meter here had finally been changed. after years of paying relentless and injustice expense because of a faulty meter that we had for years since it was installed, we finally had something new.
THough i felt dazzled because it's round like all the others but the screen is much like those in the Scientific Calculator. I thought it was like wow this is really new, but i happen to realize that the meter was made in the US and was contracted to be delivered here in the Phils. am not sure about the electric meter of others, probably local or different contract.
better be sure you're old electric meter is replace. by the way, what i learned from meralco is that they require you to have a middle man to handle the process because they will make you look stupid if you asked them yourself.
though this is new, some said that short term block outs could make this meter go whack..

I don't know if your familiar about the electric meter, friend. Because as far as I know if the meter did not calibrated yearly. The possibility of that was a faster movement of the plates of the meter...
There is a recommendation under the Philippine electrical code that meter should be calibrated yearly but those electric cooperative did not practice or implement it...

Hello Aerous,
I don't really know much about these cheating meters. but I do know is that meters that are more than ten decades tends to have a faster move compare unless you have it changed. I don't know why people are talking about manipulating the meter because you could seriously get grounded even touching it from the inside.I think. have a nice day

hi,
they said that its more nice if the Meralco meter is a analog than to digital, because its more slow than digital because its more accurate, last year we used analog meter but when some neighbor of mine complain why our electric bill is low and to them is big,so that Meralco changed our meter from analog to digital, even they didn't find wrong with it,

That's so sad Asliah,
So, that means we have to change our Electric Meter and it's not supposed to be Digital?this is bad news. we use to have the old rectangular analog type but it malfunctioned as it rotates faster. i feel sad about this, i hope it's an isolated incident. has your neighbor changed their electric meter?

hi letran I am in this tiresome retirement center and thus its their worry here.what i am concerned with is we have had several power outages lately and I do hope this old place has the wiring inspected yearly as I would hate to roast in our own beds here as the wiring shorted out.No
I am,sure a place like this has to be inspected yearly so am not going
to worry.glad you got a new meter and from my own country too.

Hello hatley,
To be honest, i don't want to experience power outages again. most specially this summer because we all know how hot it is. am not sure about the weather there but for one thing i believe that things are going to go well if there will be no brown out or black out in some days to come. have a nice day.

hello LK,
I never checked my meter base how does it looks like.
I will check it later and if it's not the same like the one you have now,i will drive to the nearest Meralco office to have my meter base changed.
And if they won't changed it soon...i will have it break...i am sure there no more excuse for not changing it

Hello Sis Jaiho,
Lolz, unfortunately it's different now knowing that the change in meters are no longer free. too bad though i should have seriously consider it back then. but the cost of it has changed, it depends on the branch and which meter they have. the one we have now is a bit digital on the numbers but rumored that i can cause trouble for short term black outs.
