Why does MyLot have no chatbox?

I kinda miss the chatbox I used to use in Facebook. I like to chat my friends in MyLot so there would be instant messages and updates. Wouldn't that be cool? if possible ,I also like a video chat. What do you think fellow MyLotters?

I believe that is because most of the people are writing discussions, and will probably pay no attention to it.
I suggest you email the administrator or website owner, and suggest the update.

I agree with your statement. Besides, many of the Mylot users are also sometimes multi-tasking in their computers. Users can open as many windows and tabs as they want and open a number of application. It would be a little confusing and stressful to keep track of everything, much more of the content of the discussion, whether it be an answer or a question.

i would like for mylot to device a way so that we can know if our friends are online but then we can always do that in the other social sites. I guess the mylot admin are making sure that we stay focused on making quality discussions and in people to participate in them :)

There is a difference between Facebook and Mylot. Facebook is all about making friends and sharing things. But Mylot is a discussion forum. Also aren't we all chatting here? Only difference is that it is public. Of course, we can always use the private messaging system up here to do private chatting.
