It is a well known fact to everyone that we get paid for writing anything here in mylot as long as we are following the guidelines specified by mylot. But my question is once we have started a discussion does mylot pay us for the comments that are received to the discussions started by us.

Hi darkrider, We get paid only for what we post and upload. So we do not get [paid for the comments that we receive on our discussion topics. But every time you make a post and upload a picture from you interest category, you get paid - all the best

If you want to understand how much you earn for posting, read here: http://www.mylot.com/o/faq/faq6.aspx#15

NO! YOU type, YOU earn; I type, I earn!
By responding to your discussion, I earn and you don't. If YOU comment on my response, YOU earn.

I would expect so (Unless this discussion gets deleted because the question has been asked so many times before).

really on which basis mylot pays is confusing.i think when one start some topic and gets lots of responses he or she should get some earning as the reward of starting an interesting discussion.but as all say here they follow the rule you type you earn and i type i earn.but being frank i really dont have read it anywhere on mylot rules or FAQ,why dont mylot clarify to the useres on which basis they pay more or less.if its quality then why dont they tell how they determine quality.hope they will do this and we will be able to earn more by understanding the mylot better.

You will find the basis on which MyLot pays clearly set out in the FAQs under 'Earnings'. Look for the headings 'How do I calculate my earnings?' and 'What can I do to increase my earnings?'.
'Quality' should not need explaining. If you don't make your posts as descriptive, relevant, informative, honest and original as you can, then you are not giving 'quality'. The algorithm is very complex (so complex that even GoAskAlice has said that he doesn't know the details) and has been proved to work well and fairly for five years and several million discussions, responses and comments. We are told that the Discussion Rating System (users' ratings for other people's posts) is taken into account and that short, meaningless posts (such as thanking someone for posting) earn nothing.

I like this discussion because I feel things are very confusing as well. I also want to add, how do they determine quality? Please I want to know the specifics.

That is also something that I want to know.Who baically decides the quality of the content. Is it the admin? If so then who are the people who comprise the admin is it someone from the users or others?
