Buddha is not a God according to some people that are in Buddhism. Buddhism is not necessarily a religion according to what I have seen in youtube.com, but why there are some other country consider Buddha is a God? I read an article on the internet that there are those people who consider Buddha as a God. I read another article on the internet that those people who denied Buddha as a God did not give respect to Buddha. According to what I read, those people that are in Buddhism denied the existence of God. Does Buddhism have two kinds of belief? There are those group of people who believe that Buddha is a God and there are another group of people who believe that Buddha is a man, so which one is true?

No Buddhist will say that Buddha is a god. Buddha was a man who lived some 2,500 years ago and saw more clearly than most into the true nature of reality. Some branches of Buddhism accept the existence of a god or more than one, others do not. In that sense, Buddhism is more of a philosophy than a religion. You can read about the basic beliefs of Buddhism here: http://buddhismbeliefs.org/ and here: http://www.religioustolerance.org/buddhism1.htm (NOTE: I am not a Buddhist but I have known a number of Buddhists, some of whom regularly worship with Christians.)

We cannot argue about religion and belief. Each constitution has their own principles and guidelines that they follow. We mustn't argue about it. Everyone must understand the difference of people from us. Love one another!

Hi hi hi. Love one another. I remember the priest in our church. He said though we have different religions and different beliefs, all of us should respect and love one another. It is because we believe in one same God.

One thing that makes Buddhism unique is that its patriarch, Siddhartha Gotama, was not a god, the son of a god or inspired by a god. He was a man and a teacher. In Buddhism there is no need for a god because man is view as supreme and there is no higher power that sit in judgment of his destiny.

He was a man but with meditation, reflecting about life just like Jesus Buddha also became aware of things that we can't see normally cause we don't have our third eye opened yet. It's like he was an older brother, like more evolved than us amd that's why he knew more. We'll reach his state, faster if we want, but we all get there, be like angels, that's why we reincarnate time after time.

Buddha was a man who became a god by realizing he had become a man for a reason. Nichiren Buddhism (the denomination of Buddhism led by a Buddhist monk who helped people realize Buddhahood) teaches that we ALL have the nature of Buddhahood (along with nine other natures) within our being. In other words, Buddha is a god as much as you-and-I were/are/will-be. A lot of Buddhism is based-on/rooted-in the Mentor/Disciple relationship (just like Christianity started-out). As a disciple, you serve your mentor unquestioningly---having faith in his wisdom & knowledge to see you through the dark until you receive the light. (I see why Buddhism is sometimes mistaken for Luciferism: Buddhism 'follows the one who is enlightened,' Luciferism 'follows the one who brings the light.') Back to the Mentor/Disciple setup : following your mentor so unquestioningly, you seem to be paying him the homage due to a divine being (which is understandable, as you trust him to be acting on the orders he receives from the Divine Voice - Myo). As it's the easiest way to go, you teach your children to treat your mentor like a god. When you need more power than that implies you may have, your Buddha will give it to you.

The people who practice divine virtues become gods in view of the people. As the Buddha inspired so many people towards right views, right intention, right speech, right action, right livelihood, right effort, right concentration etc he is preached as god, though he is a man.

Buddhism is actually part of my personal spiritual path and Buddha is not, was not and never wanted to be considered a god of any kind...He was simply a young man who decided to try living life differently..His journey worked out very well for him and he became a very humble and wise person shared what he learned and experienced with others...Also as its been mentioned, Buddhism is NOT a religion but a philosophy for living.

Here it is going to get a little confusing the ones that believe Budda is a god aren't actually Buddhist they are Hindu's who believe Buddha was one of the many incarnations of the God head Krishna who gave the testament that those can find him among many different paths and that Krishna wants you to eat of fruits vegetables and grains. Buddhism also suffers from the fact that it is an open religion in that there are many different versions so to speak all which base themselves on the Teaching that are found in an sort of indirect way of the Lotus Sutra. Which is like a whole book of nothing but Proverbs and just sutras to be thought about. Buddha in Nichern is considered to be the first one to find the way to enlightenment. In the India form of it is the same but they do pray to him as if he is a good because in Buddhism they believe he is also one of the many to reach ascension out of the physical realm and can help you reach this higher plane if you ask for his help and guidence. So I guess the Answer would be both or Yes and No. Buddhism is a sort of hybrid between a philosophy and a Religion. It is more for an individual to find their own path with than for one to be laid out so it has many different answers to the same question there are many different paths into the forest.

I think the followers consider Buddhism a philosophy more than a religion. I also do not think that they consider him a god, but a philosophical leader and prophet. It is a more current group that seems to consider him a god. They do not know the true beliefs.

My point is, why shouldn't men be considered as Gods. All the saints, irrespective of their religion are considered as Gods. If we are talking about someone who actually existed in human form are undoubtedly men. But that doesn't keep them from being divine. Any man who is pure and can influence people to know the truth and live a better life is a God. And that's how Jesus Christ is a God, Buddha is a God, Shri Rama is a God, and that's how all the Gods are. Being a perfect man is being a God indeed.

I also read something on internet about God that it really not literally interpreted. Now I understand. Well, it enlightens me.
