have you ever spent a day without money at hand? i mean literally out of money. the funny thing about this odd day [without money], my family is aware of the situation and enjoying what we have for lunch and dinner [just fried eggs and rice]. we were laughing and enjoying what we have for this odd day, and what caught my attention is my second to the youngest son remarking, "i am a lucky kid as there are other kids not having dinner or even lunch, so thank God for this blessing."

Wow! Your youngest son has just demonstrated how good a parents he has been blessed with. He knows the value of family and knows that no matter what they fact you are together is truly everything. Quite often if we have all the money we need we loose sight of the fact that money only serves one thing. It gives us options but can never really bring us true joy. You have done well with your children and while you may have a day or two without money you have been blessed with what really counts. A family that really loves each other. While growing up I experienced this very thing. This was during the 1940's and my family was anything but well off. My parents had 5 children but somehow we never once thought we were deprived. The love of our family served us well for long lasting memories. My best to you and your family.

I agree. That's the thing about people; you can't tell how awesome they are by how much money they have!

Wow! What a positive minded one. You must be proud of him because he's such an intelligent one. We should always be like this to live life happily. These days , I also don't have much money to spend for our needs. I am just glad and always praying that nobody gets sick.

Happiness actually does not depend on what you have but being contended with whatever you have and do not have. Being thankful to God in whatever circumstances makes a person a happy one. Many people mistakes money as the only source of happiness. Well that is wrong and your family have just proven it.

I have spent many days without money through the years, and it was tolerable, and sometimes interesting but never enjoyable for me, don't get me wrong I had good times through those bad times but its very difficult not having money. For me its never been a positive experiences going without money but I often managed to make the best of it, and I even had some fun moments such as having a laugh or two with family but those moments were fleeting because usually immediately following the laughs was the time to pay bills or buy food and the reality of daily survival would brake those joyful moments So I guess what I'm saying is I'm always grateful for what I have and I'm pretty good at making the best out of not so good times in life, but if I had a choice I would definitely not want to do or be without money because moneys not everything but it sure makes life so much easier when you have it.

i quite agree. Running out of money to spend for the basic necessities in life is always a traumatic experience, resorting to a lot of some unfamiliar ideas to the point of embarrassment, lol! i'm just thankful that my family is aware of the situation and i feel very grateful for them having such a positive attitude towards the harsh realities of life.

You are blessed with a family who are simple and contented with what life has given them. Actually, even without money, the family can enjoy. The company of each member alone is enough to make you happy. In times like that, their understanding of the situation and help in making the situation lighter is really a big help. Cheers to you and your family!

I spend most of my days without money. We buy food for almost the whole month and as I work here at home, I don't have to go anywhere. My mom manages the money and here at home there is no money at all. And I don't care, I can enjoy my day without money because actually I don't need it, unless I'm really bored and I want to go somewhere but I don't have money for a taxi, that's a problem. But we have a really nice garden, so when I'm bored I go under a tree with a book or some music and that's it. I can spend a day without money.

If it is just no money in the pocket, I think I may be able to enjoy a day, either alone or with friends. If I am really broke and I have not a single cent, I doubt I can be happy and enjoy my day. I would be fretting what should I do next, where to get money and who to borrow money from.

Thank God for a son who understands that there are some blessings that are small but that are very big blessings in our life. We live quite often without money on hand and we are thankful for what we have as well. I do not think that I have been down to eating eggs and rice, but we have had to make things really stretch before.

yeah, i am really grateful. having my sons growing up and having a positive outlook is quite an accomplishment on my part. having days of drought or without money is an awakening not only for me, but for them too, to realize how much life lies ahead of them and to try to do their best to have a better life.

God is good and life does offer the sweetest simple pleasures. We dont really have to have a lot of money to enjoy life. We can be creative and find other ways to go through life happy and comfortably without having the pressure of money. I will admit that it is needed at times but most times, we can really just go without it.^_^ Enjoy your life!^_^

Yes and it can be okay, sometimes it is hard to do but I have done this I have gone a few months without money, we all need money and like money but there are things in life you can enjoy without it, like going to the park, taking a walk watching television, hanging out with friends or being here on my lot. And yes Thank God for the things we do have like a roof over our heads, food in the house, just simple things. Have a good day.

We do.. We don't have money on hand for like several times a day... Its really hard but we are already used to it. Even if like that, we still have something to eat everyday... yea, you're son is right.. We are still lucky to have something served in our dining table unlike the other families that don't have nothing which is really sad!

mind you, it's an eye opener, an realization of the ups and downs in life that are sometimes inevitable, and despite all of these, the encouragement to look positively and hopefully a lesson learned to make things better in the future.
