absent father

my daughter is now 6 me and her dad split when she was just a few months old for the first few months he had regular contact with her but this stopped when he got a new woman he had on and off contact until she was 2 but recently he has seperated from his partner and wants access to my daughter who he has not seen for 4years i want to do whats best for my daughter but i dont no what that is

You know this is what angers me about some fathers. They let another woman get in the way of them loving or doing for their own child. And once their well has ran dry now they want to step up as if they have always been there. Let him see his daughter but be frank with him and tell him that his daughter needs him in his life and that he can't just take breaks when he feels like it. He has a prime responsibility to his daughter and he should make this his first priority!

thank you for the welcome i dont think his daughter is anywhere near the top of his list of priorities - she should be top. since i started this discussion i told him he sould have supervised access at his mothers house without me and he turned up spent 5minutes there hardly said two words to my daughter and left makes me soooo mad she doesnt know who he is anymore so obviously is going to be wary of him he doesnt seem to understand this tho
