Today there is a global shortage on fossil fuel making the prices of gasoline increase rampantly. We own a 4 door sedan however the increasing high cost of gasoline breaks our weekly budget. I seldom use it anymore. We are planning to buy a scooter to decrease the expense because we heard from others that you would go farther with the gasoline you buy using a scooter.
Is it worth it to buy another vehicle just to save? or is it better to stick with 4 wheels? Do you think that the gasoline prizes will ever normalized?

To reduce cost of gasoline, why dont you try to use public transportation? It's easy and cheap. Dont use your scooter or car everytime you go, especially in close distance, you'd better walk, it's free and healthy. Another choice, you can use bicycle. Doing simple to make our earth green

It depends on how much you need to drive, whether the cost of another vehicle would be worth it or not. The only way you can tell is to do the math. How much does your car get per gallon? How much would the scooter get? How much would the scooter cost? How long would you use it? What about insurance? Add all the expenses, including gas for a week, then add all the expenses using your car for a week and see which one comes out best. Don't forget to add in the purchase price for the scooter. If you will finance it, figure how much it's costing you per week.
I suspect gasoline prices will quit going up at some point, but I doubt they'll ever go back to where they were. Having transportation that takes less gas is definitely something to look into if your car doesn't have that many good miles left or if you need to replace it.
