Friendster to become a social entertainment site

Friendster is planning to become a social entertainment site. It would focus more on online games. We need to backup all our data from Friendster before May 31 as the news told me. Today(April 27,2011), I tried to login on my Friendster account but I can't. There seems to be loads of people already backing up all their treasured memories in Friendster. Care to share any other news about Friendster?

thank you for the info france.. i have not heard on tv maybe i was too busy watching a movie.. i will try and get my photos from friendster too like what others are doing.. i do think friendster is upgrading so that it will get a lot of traffic just like before when there was yet no facebook.

Hi katrina! You should be exporting your Friendster photos now. It will take a while for the download to be generated. You'll be sent an email notification if the download is ready. You can also export to Multiply and Flick but it will also take a while to generate if it is ready to export. The same goes to your FS blogs if you have some.

It is now a social gaming site. I checked it yesterday and its completely different now. Maybe the reason why they change Friendster is because there are only few people using it. They have few users now unlike before. Everybody is hooked on Facebook now.

This is just so sad.
I have been busy with my studies for the past months and it was too late to back up my files since I have found out just now about this news. And when I opened my account there it was a new format focusing on social gaming, avatars and rewards (I think). All of the good and beautiful messages from my friends that I have been cherishing for the longest time were all gone together with all the photos I have in my albums. With this reincarnation, as what they call it, I might have to deactivate my account for good since I'm not the type of person who loves to play games online, I'm more on the talk and communicate type of a person.
But still, I wish them good luck with this new venture they have. Now it's Facebook, Twitter or Plurk for me now.
