quiet, that is. My computer wouldn't turn on this morning. Thank goodness for the laptop! But now I wonder how much this one is going to cost (grumble).
Also, the house is kind of dead because the twins are at their grandmother's for the second week of spring break. It's nice having just Dearra around, but it's also kind of quiet. Heck I could almost even miss the bickering that sometimes goes on.
This office is dead too. My next door neighbor hasn't been in all week, and the people on the other side have moved. It's like working in a tomb.
Beautiful day though. I do believe I shall take a walk down by the river today at lunch. That will make thinks less dead. As opposed to undead...
Are things really quiet where you are too?

If only I were at home, I'd have a nap too. But if I go to sleep on this call, I'll get busted. hm, maybe if I put phone on mute...

Yep, it's always quiet here. I can here the motor of the fan my laptop sits on, the occasional bird and that means a cockatoo sometimes with it's awful and very loud squarwk...or a galah with much the same noise. I can here a rooster a couple of streets away, the school bus just went past as it does every week day at this time...although it's about 10 minutes late today.
I can also hear Pickles in the laundry which is outside and down a level. I buy bulk detergent which sits in it's large pail on top of the drier. Pickles gets on the drier with his front feet, noses up the lid and eats his "lolly" to his hearts content. Makes for excellent manure pellets.

Right now things are always quiet. I have to get a life. It is not quite warm enough to go walking by the water, either.

WE have Son in laws mother, his brothe and his nephew who weighs 340 pounds and only 25.
THe boys looking for work here but the temp places seem to have really lost alot of contracts.
and so with thier famliy members being very sick they are going back home to wait it out I really dont blame them for going but what I hope is they stay this time as grand daughter has to give up her room for other grandma and they have been back and forth about 10 times in 3 years! puts us in the hole for I see no money comiong from other grandma toward the bills SO they are basicly living here free. DIdnt miond it at first but the in and out gets tiresome

Hmmm?
Did you try disconnecting all power and plugging that computer back in after waiting 30 seconds?
Check the fuse/circuit breaker to the circuit that the computer is on?
Anything else not working in the house? 'R'???
Did you talk to your evil twin? Hmmmm?
So you have found Peace on Earth,
Are you going to spread it around?
Can you record it?

OUch, sounds electrical internal, could be the power cord, more likely something expensive like a TV tube blows to preserve and save the .10 (ten cent) fuse. Arrrrgggghhhhh....

The PC had power. I turned it off and could hear it power down. But when it wouldn't restart, I did disconnect the power cord, reconnect it and try again. Nothing. everything else connected to that power plug works...

hi dawn things are a bit quiet but I am so behind that thats okay too. I am sorry your table top computer did not turn on. at least or so my
son says that desk top computers are easier and cheaper to repair
than laptop. His desktop quit as he thinks its the motherboard.the
problem is the ageof his motherboard as he has to get one the same age as the guts in his computer.poor guy he still has only a part time job.Good that you have a beautifulday to go for a walk in. its been perfect here today too but I m mylotting like crazy as the months almost over. lol
my roommie is about to start in when are you going to bed its almost eight thiry pm here she loves to nag me and cannot understand why I snap
at her. I am not a snapping person but ask me this same thing every evening when she should know I always go to bed at ten to suit her ugh and grrrrrrr. I can bet with twins around it gets noisy but still when they are gone you miss them right? Its always quiet here as our room is stuck in a sort of alcove here out looking the back of a grocery store with it s lovely dumpsters. lol lol bujt the sea gulls come in when they dump old fish out and its a picnic to watch them quarrel over all that lovely old fish. They seem to have a pecking order too. I watched one fend off a whole bunch like he was the king of the flock of something.you know thats a bit pathetic that I have so little of a life I am watching the darned sea gulls but then maybe not. lol

Aha, a dumpster view room. How did you get so lucky? lol
The quiet is nice, and the extra time, but I still miss the little buggers.

I wish!
Well they're slightly more quiet than usual. The kids are back to school this week, yippee!
Monday was nice and quiet and I spent the whole day relaxing and battling a nasty cold.
Tuesday I had to keep my preschooler home because he was coughing up a lung.. so slightly less quiet.
Wednesday there was a 2 hour delay because Thunderstorms knocked out the power for like the entire town. Ours was out here for about 2 hours I guess (came back on at 8am but of course I didn't wake up till 8:10). I didn't even know there was a delay until the bus was late and I looked. You wouldn't expect a 2 hour delay on a sunny day.. it didn't even look like we'd had any thunderstorms the night before.
Today everyone is back to school on time.. but my youngest looks and feels like hell so I'm taking him to the doc.
It would be a lot more quiet if there weren't a nasty cold or flu bug rampaging through my house!!

Hey dawny! I would think that you would relish this time of peace
and quiet. It might be the only time of it that you have for a
long time to come! Just enjoy it and try to relax. I think you
are going to need your strength when the twins get back to face
the issues. Try and enjoy those river walks that I am so jealous
of! Take care of yourself, Love, Les

I do enjoy it (at home - at work it's boring), but at the same time I miss the little buggers.

my mom says when i am not at home, the house feels empty.she hates to let me go for long trips.i am can go around the whole world but still can't feel the happiness and contentment i feel at home.
When started working in adidas store there i met many new people and we really became close buddies but when one by one the people left.I felt very lonely and it was like same 9 hour 30 mins shift became so long for me that i used get tired and continuously look at cloak when the shift will end, the same shift used to be so fun and i never knew how the time used to fly.very soon i also left the job

It's awfully quiet here, too.
I can hear myself thinking. I am the only one in the room. I am at the office right now. It's past office hours. I am just waiting for my wife, trying to kill time, and striving to earn a little while doing so. Sort of killing three birds with one stone.
Ah, the joy of having myLot.

It is hardly ever quiet here, our creek is just about at flood level so it can be heard from the house, the spring birds have returned and our Canadian Goose chases
his hen around each morning, right over the house. He does this to make sure she stays strong when she is sitting on the next. Jest fly overhead and trucks rumble
along the road. No it's not quiet around here until the forgs go to sleep just before dawn. Blessings

This building is like a tomb, just air conditioning noises mostly. Home is not so quiet even with the twins gone.
