For those of you who don't click on links:
The fact that Obama was adopted by Indonesian Lolo Soetoro in the 1970s,
and his name was legally changed to Barry Soetoro at that time, is most
likely the reason he is spending millions of dollars to hide his birth
certificate. He never filed the papers to change his name back to
“Barack Hussein Obama, Jr.”, so any birth certificate produced by the
state of Hawaii would list him as “Barry Soetoro”.
This was written before the 'revelation' of the long form birth certificate.
Anyone know adoption law? Don't they seal the original birth certificate and issue another one with the NEW NAME?
Sorry guys, I'm a die hard, the man is just not telling us the whole story.
In a passport amendment submitted Aug. 13, 1968, Obama’s mother, Stanley Ann Dunham, identified her son with an Indonesian surname and asked the State Department to drop him from her U.S. passport.
Is this what they were worried about during the campaign when someone broke in and tried to get a peak at records to do with the candidates passports?
Obama’s top terrorism and intelligence adviser, John O. Brennan, headed a firm that was cited in March for breaching sensitive files in the State Department’s passport office, according to a State Department Inspector General’s report released this past July.

The State Department investigation of improper computer access to passport records of three presidential candidates is focusing on one remaining employee — a contract worker with a company headed by an adviser to the presidential campaign of Sen. Barack Obama

NO, the questions just won't go away. He may have been born in Hawaii, but there's still things he's hiding IMHO.

I for one do not believe his birth certificate is real or accurate and I certainly do not believe he was born in Hawaii. I do however agree with your assessment that he is hiding plenty. There is something that he does not want people to know and he will pay any price or do anything to makes sure that it remains a secret.

Even if he was adopted his Natural Born Citizenship to the United States wouldn't go away he would still be able to hold the Office of President (From what I have read on the relevant Supreme Court Cases also as long as he was back within the United States before he turned 18 he could claim his original name or even use the other name with out any issue with his status as a Natural Born Citizen of the United States. Also their is the question of if he was officially Adopted or not. He could of been claimed to of been by his stepfather and then when he went back to hawaii he could of kept his name that he got from indonesia really I don't see an issue either way as well he has proven that he is Eligible to be President of the United States through both the COLB that he released and the long form BC that he just released.

His mother took him off her passport, which is in effect renouncing citizenship. Indonesia does not allow dual citizenship and to attend the school he attended he had to be a Indonesian citizen. He said he was adopted, did he lie about that too?

Well there would have to be a legal action and still he would still be able to gain his citizenship as a Natural Born Citizen because of how we form Natural Born Citizen on the place of Birth. Also he was a minor. His mother can't renounce his citizenship he would have to do it. Also as for the Indonesians not accepting dual Citizenship that I am not sure about as well as him not being able to go to Pakistan under a United States Passport is false you just couldn't go their Directly but you could travel their and I haven't looked to much into him going to Indonesia as it wouldn't disqualify him from the Office. Also my friends would say My mom was their Mother. So it could easily be the samething if their was no adoption as far as no papers where signed and his stepfather took him in under his name and then he attended school there it wouldn't change a single thing if he legally changed his name or if it was done on some unoffical level it would be an AKA and his birth Citizenship would still apply. I believe you keep this level of Citizenship tell you are 23. And his Indonesian records would show him being born in Hawaii so still a Natural Born Citizen of the United States. Also I haven't seen anything that says the Indonesian Government doesn't allow dual citizens or people from other nations to go to their schools.

I believe his book said he had an Indonesian passport. Here's a discussion having nothing to do with the Obama case that says a child can hold dual citizenship, but must either choose Indonesian or another citizenship once they reach adulthood. Didn't he travel on that passport once he was an adult?

I agree there are still questions and they will most likely never be answered. Why is this even an issue? Why have we spent so much much time, energy and resources on this? This should have been verified before the man even ran. If he wants his privacy, thats ok, then dont run for the highest office in the country.

Agreed. McCain went through the vetting process. I'm sure Hillary, since she asked for his proof early on did too. Perhaps even back when she ran for Congress.
Another poster said that perhaps she didn't push cause the Clintons have skeletons in their closet too. It took a man who just doesn't scare easy to get this done. I'm not a fan of Trump, but I admire his accomplisment in this.

People are saying Trump got a little to close for comfort to something major he wants hidden and that is why the release of this document. Got to make you wonder what that means.

Seems I remember people that attend Harvard with Barack Obama are on record saying the only name they know Barack Obama by was Barry Soetoro.President Obama's mother registered him in school in Indonesia under his legal adoptive name Barry Soetoro.Maybe to actually end the controversy President Obama will need to release more of his records.Perhaps this is just the beginning of the controversy beings President Obama has released more information on his COLB.Of course many people will be taking a close look at this newly released computer copy of President Obama's COLB.I did notice at the top of the newly released document it did not read record of birth or birth certificate.I looked at the newly released COLB and thought this was the end of the story. Then it was pointed out to me there is some odd markings on the COLB.You can view the unexplainable marking at this link http://www.thesmokinggun.com/ It is to early for me to say one way or the other if this is a true Hawaii birth certificate;I will wait for the document experts to come to their conclusion. You post certainly dose bring up very important questions that still needs to be answered by President Obama.

A commenter on that site wrote this:
"[§338-17.8] Certificates for children born out of State. (a) Upon application of an adult or the legal parents of a minor child, the director of health shall issue a birth certificate for such adult or minor, provided that proof has been submitted to the director of health that the legal parents of such individual while living without the Territory or State of Hawaii had declared the Territory or State of Hawaii as their legal residence for at least one year immediately preceding the birth or adoption of such child. (b) Proof of legal residency shall be submitted to the director of health in any manner that the director shall deem appropriate. The director of health may also adopt any rules pursuant to chapter 91 that he or she may deem necessary or proper to prevent fraudulent applications for birth certificates and to require any further information or proof of events necessary for completion of a birth certificate. (c) The fee for each application for registration shall be established by rule adopted pursuant to chapter 91. [L 1982, c 182, §1]"
And then we have the fact he was adopted by Soetoro. Which means the original document would have been sealed or discarded and a new one issued.

What does the fact that he was adopted years after he was born have anything to do with his birth certificate and where he was born? Adoption does not change birth records. His adoption was after the fact, after his mother remarried. Doesn't matter one bit what nationality his adoptive father was. He could have chose to remain Barry Soetero for the rest of his life he could have been president Soetero but the fact still remains that his name change doesn't amount to a hill of beans he was still born in Hawaii case closed.
My father adopted my half brother after he married my mother. My brother was born John Jay Jones after my father adopted him he became John Jay Smith and remains so. He could have chose to change his name after he reconnected with his real father but he didn't for whatever reason but that doesn't change or negate anything about his actual birth certificate. It's just a legal name change.
I don't know what it means to be taken off his mother's passport. Everyone has their own passports even babies. I'm looking at my passport now and no where does it state where I was born or who my parents are.

There is no such thing as taking someone off a passport. Each person gets their own passport there is no such thing a a joint passport even for a parent and child. Even if there was a new birth certificate issued the only thing that would change is the name not where they were born.

You are still not getting it. There would be a NEW birth certificate with Lolo Soetoro's name in place of Barack Obama sr. name. Go look at the released birth certificate, who's name is on it. Obama claims he was adopted by LoLo Soetoro, and that is the name that would be on the certificate if he told us the truth about the adoption!

She took him off her's so he could become a Indonesian citizen and attend a school that only admitted Indonesians. From what I read, that is the law in Indonesia. That is what is reported. I of course do not know for sure. IF it is true, on becoming an adult, he could choose which nationality he prefered. SINCE he may have traveled on his Indonesian passport, it would mean that he CHOSE to keep his Indonesian passport, since he couldn't have used an American one as Pakistan was not admitting AMERICANS at the time.
And additionally, IF he was adopted, the original birth certificate would have been sealed and a new one issued with his NEW NAME and adopted father's name.

I was adopted, but my adoptive mother knew my biological mother. Bio mom worked for her as a housekeeper. Mom had my original birth certificate that has my original last name. My current birth certificate has my adoptive mom listed as my foster mom and my last name is changed. It also has the signature of the doctor and lists the hospital where I was born. They were meticulous enough to put that information on it, although it wouldn't have made a difference.

If I apply for a birth certificate I get the second one. I'm not even sure if the first one exists on record. The copy my mom had was probably given to her by the bio mom. I was with her for a number of years before she even adopted me, so it would make sense for her to have the original.

And for the record it became a closed adoption at that point. My family tells me I should remember her, but I don't. Must not have made much of an impression on me! LOL

Thank you, I admit I know only a little about adoption laws. So, which one is your LEGAL birth certificate? The first one, or the second one?

Debra the sammy lake word press article sadly makes a lot of sense. I think we have no chance of seeing anything being done about all the questions surrounding Obama. I think all I (we) can do is pray that he does not get re-elect. Since he first took office I have prayed every night that Obama will be an instrument of God's will to protect and save our country.

He has to want to whiteheather. And sadly, I don't think the man really wants to. He's taking us down a path I never thought I'd live to see. Keep praying, no one is ever totally a loss until their last breath.
