SMOKING can cause IMPOTENCE

I was at the FILCAB station earlier today, waiting for the van to already be full. I was the first there and passengers only come around every 20 minutes or so. Anyway, I was really bored so I just kept looking around. At the wall beside me, there was a a sign that said, SMOKING causes IMPOTENCE. I am not a smoker. However, the information was new for me. I was a little bit shocked about it as well. I knew smoking caused lung cancer, emphysema, breathing problems, and causes the respiratory lining to change, becoming especially more abundant with goblet cells and reducing in the number of cilia (haha.. nosebleed) but I never knew it caused impotence. So of course, being curious, I did a little research. This is what I found out. According to BBC news, around 120,000 men between ages 30 to 49 in UK are impotent due to smoking. What's funny is, 88% of smokers do not know that there is a connection between impotence and smoking. But how does smoking cause impotence? The main thought is that smoking causes artherosclerosis, thereby impeding blood flow. I can't really post the reason because it says it is somewhat involves a mature content and I don't know how to change my preferences. :) LOL
