Instead of calling him my roommate, I'm going to call him S. The guy he hired is L. This will make things easier. L has called me a few times regarding S and the problems at work. L told me last night that S was fired from the job not only for laziness, but for drinking on the job. The client had wanted him gone early on, but felt obligated to have the work completed. The client has 2 more jobs to be done, but is not giving them to S, but to L since he has proven to her that he can work on his own. S, I was told, would leave every 20 minutes to go to the bar if he wasn't drinking out of his wine box. S comes home last night, not a word about being fired, you know he's too embarrassed to say anything about it. But he lugs his tools home in a suitcase, says it's the longest day he's ever worked and is glad he has tomorrow off. L calls me again shortly after S comes home. S's phone is ringing off the hook but he refuses to answer knowing that it's L calling. He shuts his phone off. When L calls me, I'm in bed. I tell him that S is ignoring his calls, that he has no intention of paying a "loser" who doesn't work when he's not on the job site. L then says that he's coming over and will get the money out of S one way or another. I told him not to disturb us when he did come. 12:30am. The dogs are barking, it wakes us up, but not S, who has fallen asleep with the tv on yet again. I go out to the living room to find my dog looking at the door. I hear a knock and open the door to be blinded by L's headlamp. I don't know what happened after that as I herded the dog and the cat into our bedroom and locked the door. We heard some yelling and thumping, but that's it. I have no idea if L got the money from him or not. But S is making a lot of noise this morning, sounding like he might be in pain, maybe L beat the crap out of him like he said he would. If L has taken S for every penny he had on him, he said he would give us what S owed us. If that's the case, S will be on his A$$ tomorrow without a place to live. I will show him the door and make him leave. If I need to call the cops, so be it, I will. I've had enough of his know it all attitude.

Long story, you'd have to search out my other topics to understand this better. If you haven't been following this situation, I don't blame you for being confused and lost. Long story short, we rented a room to a guy who acts like he's homeless and is a drunk idiot.

I hope that L was able to get the money out of S. It would be nice to hear that the jerk is out of your life! I would call the cops before breaking the news to the guy just to be on the safe side. Good luck with that.

Does L need a place to live? He sounds as if he would be a good tenant. I do hope this all works out for your peace of mind in the long run.
