Is there any mylotters a diver too?? Can u share with me your stories or knowledge? I am so excited about it!! i might wanna buy some important diving equipments like the snorkle mask, but i am not yet familliar about it.. my diving course will be next month at Tioman Island, Malaysia!!! Yeayyyy i cant wait!!!

wow, i'm so excited for you, i wish i know how to swim lol....
Regarding the diving equipment, i guest its better for you to join a forum or socialized with a fellow divers. In that case, you can learn from their experiences which equipments are being used and also they can give you an advice which shops you can buy an affordable one. I hope you understand what i'm saying my friend. Sorry for the diving thing, i really don't know how to swim lol.... I wish i could visit also Tioman Island, i heard a lot of good stories about it. :)

I have added scuba into my interest so i can get friends to discuss bout it. You are from Philippines rite? Dont you have AirAsia there? they always have promotions! my brother purchased $50 return ticket to Bali from Kuala Lumpur during promotion. let me know if you plan to come, i can recommend you best way to get there and how to get best price on everything.. I have family who open a resort there! infact my profile picture is at Tioman Island! :)

Thats good to hear. Yup i'm from Phil. but currently i'm here in Dubai. I'll let you know if i will visit Tioman Island so you can give me more tips and the best things there, Its nice having you as a friend. I still have need to do things in my lists. I am not a diver but a snorkeler. It is excellent that you are going to do a diving course. I went to Tioman Island when I was 21 years old. I think that your instructor will lend you equipment for your diving. Then you will have all the ideas about what you can buy for all the diving that you will do. I am very excited for you and think that you will have a fantastic time.

Thanx! now i have 1 month to read the diver manual :) I used to love snorkling, sometimes i skin dive but i cant go so deep, that really encourage me to get my diving license to go more deeper into the ocean and explore another world by my own!!! I love going to island for get away! we have so many of beautiful island in Asia like in Thailand and Malaysia.. Im gonna be more excited going to island after i possess a diving license!!!

Which organisation/course are you learning with?
I learnt to dive with SSI in Egypt, and it was fab. They will lend you equipment, no worries.
If you were going to buy anything I agree it should be the mask - a good fitting mask can really make a dive better. Buying equipment like regulators or BCDs is much more expensive, so if you won't be diving regularly it's probably more sensible to rent those.
I've never been to Malaysia but enjoy your diving!
The course shouldn't be too hard. For ours, it was a multiple choice test - we got given a book to learn the information from, and our instructor tested us on important things throughout the week. We had some skills sessions, where we learnt things like hand gestures, how to share air, and what to do if your mask falls off. Then we just had to do a few dives in the open water. We started slowly, and by the end of the week we'd done 5 dives, got to 18m, seen sting rays, turtles, lionfish and baby shark, taken amazing photos of coral and gotten our qualification!
Good luck, I think it's a really worthwhile thing to do.
