enduring the "scorching" summer heat, i remembered the days when apple & blackberry were just fruits..summer then was not as hot as today! do you still remember using your good old typewriter when doing your reports..? or have you experienced using the analog phone(the one that has a round dial, which you have to turn when dialing your friends number..)? here in our country(the Philippines), those were the days when me and my playmates used to go outside and play street games. remember "tagu-taguan"(hide&seek), "piko"(hop scotch), "langit-lupa", "luksong baka", etc.... we were so active then. i also remember riding bike with my friends and exploring nearby towns.. summer then was tolerable, you can still bare the heat.. today, the world seems to get worst..earthquakes everywhere, irregular climate change, heavily polluted air and water..as we strive to make our lives easier, the more it gets complicated! i wonder if we can still bring back how our earth was when apple and blackberry were just fruits!

Halu anjiel, wew,i remember my younger years, but actually i didn't enjoyed it,becoz when i was a little gurl becoz of poverty,MUM went to the other country to work,i stayed in my grandfather and his adapted child treat me badly, that's why i was trainee house hold works, wash clothes at the river and no time to play.i was happy during school days becoz during break time i can play "shatong","chinese garter",etc, and during that time i said to myself oh it's me, i feel that i was a child playing with my co- children(LOL).and i remember also that we make fun with my friends during lunch break, one will bring salt, the other will bring vinegar, the other knife, the other fruits like mango,tamarind,calamansi/calamondin.then we have to sit down under the mango tree and we enjoying eating while we talking/telling stories of our life hehe but for now,as a mother,i allow my kids to play and play during weekends,i want them to experience their childhood.yes, and i do all my best to guide and support them as my MUM did with us.and sometimes i also play with them specially when they are playing "touch the body"(LOL).it was so fun and we enjoy it.and sometimes we eat also fruits here at our balcony with there playmates. oh so fun when thinking of the past, specially when you are watching your kids enjoying their childhood rights.... thanks GOD BLESS

Yeah so correct.. Haha. I remembered my 4 year old son. a few days ago he was eating this black currant its also like a blackberry. I asked him where on earth did he get that and did he know what was that? He simply answered. my playmate got it from a tree. Its a fruit mom and its free! I remembered exactly when i was a kid what was it like before. We could get fruits for free and its not that hot to play and stroll outside.

Haha. I laughed when I read your topic. It is soo true! I agree. I don't even know how to use a Blackberry. I think people are so much into these gadgets even they don't even need them. I think people who have so many gadgets in their life are just boastful.

hi autumndreamer.. having so many gadgets doesn't necessarily mean their just being boastful..it depends! well, maybe most of them.. other people buy so many gadgets because they need it..("needs" is different from "wants") actually, many people can't maximize the use of their gadgets..they can't use all the features their gadgets have! =P

Haha, you're right. I can't even remember a time where someone said "Blackberry" and I didn't think of a phone. If someone is actually talking about the berry, we will probably assume they are talking about the phone.. Since it is definitely talked about more than a plain old black berry.

i love your title and it's interesting and attractive, maybe i haven't experienced as much of the changes of life,my life are almost the same and my town have a relatively appropriate envirionment for us to live.but i can obviously feel that the water becomes less and less and so do the birds ,i love rains and snows but these years it becomes very drought and the air pollution are serious...i also played the "tagu-taguan" games when i was young and cherish the memory of riding bike with friends exporing the nearbytown and catching small tadpoles...on the contrary nowdays we are all very busy with our computers and cellphones ...

hello dellahappy.. thanks for the compliment! =D you are lucky to have an appropriate environment, here in our country today, the heat is nearly unbearable..maybe it's the counter-effect of last january's extremely cool wind.. anyways, are you a filipina..? never thought people from china also play "tagu-taguan"! haha.. and oh, i also experienced catching tadpoles!ü me and my friends would go to a burned house near our place and look for some tadpoles in the stagnant water! =D haha..thanks for reminding me that! =D yes, people nowadays are so exposed to radiations..no wonder many people today have cancer!

I don't like current society neither. Science and technology is well developed and breathtaking. But the science and technology doesn't make our life better, evern worse. I was happier 20 years ago even though I should write letters to contact my friends. I didn't have computer, but my life was more colorful. I always think if I can get magic power, I will make the time back. I want a simpler life.

hi caixuchu.. welcome to mylot! i agree..life then was far more better than today! though our modern technology makes our life easier, it also makes it shorter. everything nowadays are instant and so do our lives..people today die at a young age! well i guess only few of us wants to live a more simpler life.. how i wish we can restore our nature as our technology advances.. happy mylotting! =D
