Our dog chuck had an allergy

We finished our lunch and my sisters and I went to our room together with our dog chuck. I was ready to sleep then suddenly chuck's eyes is swollen and he keeps on scratching it. Few seconds after his nose is also swollen. We were so frightened and we immediately went to his doctor. He was given antihistamine and the doctor said that maybe he was bitten by some insect. Then I remembered the night before we brought him to my friend's house and let him play there. Then afterwards, I found him playing with a cockroach and then he swallowed it. in the morning, he spit out the cockroach whole. Do you think the cockroach caused him his allergy?
