I know that this not a common problem, as people say that it's easier to gain weight than to lose weight. But no matter how much I eat, I still weigh the same at the weighing scale. It seems my metabolism is high, that all the carbohydrates I consume are all converted to energy. I hope fellow myLotters could share their insights.

Hi taski
Yes you right usually don't hear people wanting to gain weight but I think I might be able to give you some hints. I had a dr. tell me what not to eat because it would cause me to gain weight. The things he suggested was...Bannanas, peanutbutter, and cheese. I did some research and found out that dr's will put you on a bannan diet to someone that needs to gain weight. The peanutbutter gives you protein that you need in your diet. So start eating anything that has bannans and eat plenty of them as well. Let us know how it works out for you. Good luck.

Noted, rose. I will see to it that I'll have plenty of those. Actually, come to think of it, we always have bananas for desert every lunch at the office. Maybe I need to eat some more. I have heard a lot about peanut butter. They say that it is rich in Vitamin D, and for one to have the right amount of vitamin D in one day, he has to consume four regular bottles of peanut butter. I wonder if that's true?

Hi taski24.. :)
I studied about nutrients in college and i think i should tell you (and other MyLot members who read this) that consuming a lot quantity of food which is a source of Vitamin D does not make your need for vitamin D daily intake is fulfilled. It is because the food you have consumed only give you the pro-vitamin D. You need the sunshine to change the pro vitamin D into vitamin D. Just make sure to spend at least 15 minutes in the morning under the sunshine. Morning sunshine is the best because it contains less UV. Ultraviolet can damages your skin and develops skin cancer.
Hope it will be useful..
have a bless day.. :)

One more if you dont mind..
consume a lot quantity of peanut butter may not be good for your health, because it contains a lot of fat..(that is why it called butter, i guess you already knew.. ^^).
The best diet is one in which what you consume (intake) equals your energy release (outake), at least not much exceed it..

Make sure you don't sacrifice exercise fearing you'll lose even more weight, as then you'll just be unhealthy. Try incorporating weight training into your routine as you will gain muscle mass, increasing your weight the healthy way. Perhaps use protein shakes, as these include a lot of calories and help build muscle but don't pack on fat.

Nice tips, leighanne. I'll try to do some weight training. My brother-in-law has a gym but I am too lazy to exercise. But I know I have to gain some weight soon. I have a two-month old son, and I am expecting that by the time he is 12, he would weigh heavier than me.

Hi taski24, I am same as you trying for gain weight for so many years and i achieved it only last year. I am really happy to help people who are like me. This is my diet, my first reason is condensed milk or named flavored milk. This is so called thick milk which i bet you l see the change in weeks, if you take regularly twice a day.
Next is boiled eggs, 2 green bananas as you may have tried it already. But take these combination Condensed milk, 2 boiled eggs, 2 green bananas and a junk food i took was samosa which is made out of dhaal/pulses. And one more, in net search for weight calculater. Identify how much weight and calories your body physique needed based on height. Accordingly you can select items in the form there and see how much quantity will help you in the weight gaining. I gained 8 weeks slowly in 3 months. You can do that in 2 months provided you really focus on it.

Thanks for the reply. I will try that. Fourteen pounds in two weeks is not bad. Right now I tip the the scale at 100 pounds. My ideal weight at my height is 120 pounds. I am not that skinny, but I really want to pack some muscle. Even if it's no longer survival of the fittest in the real world right now, it wouldn't hurt to be fit.

When i was a teenage, i also wished to gain weight. I not a picky eater, and i really eat a lot, but still i'm very thin. My friend, who has the same problem told me to have chocolate drink everyday. I followed her, and after a month or two, i gained some weight. :)

task oh my G I need to lose sixty pounds and you are complaining because you are slim.oh my dear person be so glad as you will not be apt'to get diabetes or cancer. thats good news I would think. try not exercising for awhile and you may gain weight b ut are you sure you need too. check with your doctor to be sure you are not just at the weight you are supposed to be as some people are made to be slim and their bodies will not support a lot of fat.TRY eating a lot of fatty foods and you will gain weight,
