Wills and Kate, well, what can I say about their wedding? As a Brit I loved it. I wasn't going to watch it all but ended up doing so..well, from the time Kate showed us her dress going into Westminster Abbey. What a dress it was! I predicted it would be ivory as her hair is dark and any other colour would look kinda lost. Her sister looked gorgeous too as Maid of Honour. What I love about Wills and Kate are that they have known each other for 10 years and you can tell...the way they glance at one another, smiling, lifts my heart, it really does. Gives me hope for the future of the Monarchy, although I do agree that Prince Charles should have his go at King as he's the next in line..so there! Two kisses on the balcony as well. Seeing Wills blush made my day! I have high hopes for these two. Most Royal marriages end in divorce, with the exception of Prince Edward but Wills and Kate..well, if they can't make their marriage last there's no hope is there? Prince Harry looked the part too. Such a cute-looking chap and I can't wait until his wedding day (whenever that will be) but I don't think it will be as grand as his brother's. Did you get up early if in America, Canada, etc to watch it? What did you think? Oh, by the way, I'm glad they have the proper names of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. I like the sound of that and the Queen hasn't bowed down to public pressure to make Kate a Princess and Wills to remain a Prince. Good for her! That Nicholas Witchell (Royal Correspondent) should keep his gob firmly SHUT! Can't wait for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee next year now. Bring it on!

Being 9am here I was out doors for a while earlier so if it aired I did not catch it. But I am sure it will air here again. I remember Prince Diana's wedding re-played several times during the weekend when she got married. I was such a young teen and impressed with the fairy tale wedding. At some point here I am sure we will get to see it again. Congrats to you and your country!

Thank you! Just saw her second dress earlier for the evening do and that's gorgeous as well. Wills had a "penguin suit" on..very nice! http://news.sky.com/skynews/Home/Royal-Wedding/Video-Royal-Wedding-Kate-Middletons-Dress-Designed-By-Sarah-Burton-For-Alexander-McQueen/Article/201104415981854?lpos=Royal_Wedding_First_Home_Article_Teaser_Region_0&lid=ARTICLE_15981854_Video%2C_Royal_Wedding%3A_Kate_Middletons_Dress_Designed_By_Sarah_Burton_For_Alexander_McQueen I hope the video plays..you will gasp, I promise you!

Oh gosh yes what a lovely treat. For once something happy to view instead of so many tragedies that I have heard of so much lately. It is going to be on TV here again in a couple of hours so I will have it on and see what you already seen.

I think it was just what your country needed to lift everyone's spirits and bring people together after all the doom and gloom with the recession and all. I did not get to see much of it but I did see the kiss on the balcony and the fly over of the Spitfires and the Lancaster, when I was on my break today, how cool was that And you all got the day off too, a super long weekend! Kate did look very well and I wish them all the best for the future.

There's another Bank Holiday on Monday as well so hubby can have a long rest from work. The 'planes were cool, I agree. Pity Concorde isn't around anymore as I used to love it. Did you see the RAF "surprise" Wills and Kate when he was driving that Aston Martin? Yellow helicopter..rather like the one that brings Carlisle United's ball last game of the season. Well, it used to. Health and Safety has put a stop to that as it used to hover right above the pitch. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZfoHCZDVbVk&feature=related

flagaz I like you but give it a rest please this was a happy day for most, you are all over this discussion like a rash lol. Yeah they are a dying breed but there are many that will preserve such an important aircraft. Spitfires ever since I was a kid I was fascinated by them, building the plastic models and all. I think most of the WWII aircraft are a thing of beauty and Britain produced some of the best. Nest time I am in England I definitely want to visit the air museum again and this time take a camera that works

Aww, I'm so glad you loved the wedding dress, it was well worth waiting for, wasn't it? It's great that, despite the time difference, you have watched the wedding too. I wonder where they will go for their honeymoon?

At the moment they are spending a quiet weekend "somewhere in the UK" and I reckon they're at Balmoral in Scotland. The Press have been told to respect their privacy and Wills is going back to work after the Bank Holiday! No doubt, they will escape at some point but it will be when we least expect it..good for them. Lessons have to be learned from the time of Diana and the paparazzi following her every move...and we all know what happened there.

I watched some of it,but my god, it was boring! The ceremony and everything else just dragged on and on. The singing in between each little thing they did drove me nuts as well! I had not planned on watching it, but as my wife, daughter and female house guest were watching it, I came in late and saw most of it as well. Being my first night back home, I just felt like being with the bulk of the family. My son kept asking if we could watch something else, so he went of and watched "The life of Brian" instead! It was on at prime time here, around 6.30 to 9.30 at night or something I think it was. I think it was on nearly all the free to air channels too!

Believe it or not, I thought the service was quite short! Apparently, some Tory journo has been moaning because some of the words were changed or passages left out altogether! This meant the service was shorter than, say, Di's wedding. Glad to see your son has an awesome sense of humour. How I loved that "Life of Brian" film. I actually went to see it at the cinema when it first came out and it's hilarious!

I didn't get up and watch it here in the US it was on 4am out time. I figured it would be re-shown on every channel which they did. That is all that was televised all day and night here in the US which I was glad since I missed the wedding. The couple looked really good. The dress was beautiful and Kate looked really beautiful. I really liked the groom and best man in their uniforms. Some reason I think guys look really good in uniform. If the couple have been together that long I have faith they will make it.

You should feel proud of this couple. They are awesome representatives for your country and Diana would be so proud. I agree her sister Pippa was elegant and the perfect Maid of Honor. I wasn't aware Kate broke tradition having her sister in the wedding party, but I think it was a good choice. (I also looked up the name Pippa as that seemed an odd name and found it was short for Philippa, the female version of Philip..that was interesting to learn :) I learned a lot about Harry from the specials and lol he really was a a character when he was little. He has matured nicely and will be fun to watch. All in all congratulations for this wonderful couple and the future of your country!

Aww thank you so much for your kind words about our new Royal Couple. I have high hopes for them too and yes, Diana would be proud, I'm sure. William looks so much like his Mum (facially) and he shares her compassionate nature, along with Harry, who will break loads of female hearts when he gets married as we all ADORE him! Apparently, he shed a tear when his brother whisked his bride away after all the celebrations. They are so close as brothers and it's lovely to see.

I did not plan to watch the ceremony live, but days before, more and more specials were on TV and then I heard it would start at 1AM (it didn't it was later)but I just got hooked. I have even watch reruns this weekend..it was such a 'feel good' event the entire world could enjoy. It is heart warming to watch the two brothers. They are close and it's a beautiful relationship to watch! It's said Harry and Kate are good friends and that is wonderful to know. Also I heard Kate wants Harry to get back with Chelsea Davy..we'll see :)

I did not get up for the wedding, and have not turned on the television yet. I am pleased that there is such a nice reason to have news all day, as opposed to tragedies. It is always interesting to observe our British cousins and a lot more fun that a lot of other things.

I didn't watch it from the beginning as we had the itinery..so I knew I wouldn't see "the dress" until about 11am. I got up at 10am, had a shower, got dressed and plonked myself on the chair for a couple of hours. It was so nice to watch a joyful event for once.

yea,i watched it with mom. all i can think of though was that awful hat fergie's kid wore.it looked like a hood ornament. it was a nice dress tho.i didn't really like diana's..it looked too baggy to me. and that train was obnoxious.

Well, with me being an 80s teenager I thought Di's dress was the biz but yes, the train was a tad over the top. The commentators on Will's wedding annoyed me this time round, though. They sounded almost disappointed that Kate's dress DIDN'T have a huge train. Why should it? The dress itself was enough. It would've looked stupid with a huge train and Kate is classy enough to know this. Poor Pippa is "getting it" in the media as Wills and Kate have eluded them on their honeymoon. She's an easier target for them and I wish they'd leave her alone.

hi janey I missed the whole thing and it made me so sad as I got sick, and ended up spending a night and part of a day there. too high blood sugar but I am fine now. just sad as I had really wanted'to wath it. all the pomp and pageantry and too I feel that that were really made for each other and I also have high hopes that their's well be a happy long lived marriage. they looked so handsome together.Maybe there is a place on my computer where I might be able to see some of it at least. What a time to get sick.

Yes, I saw your discussion but, due to not really knowing about your illness, I couldn't think of anything to say..sorry about that. I can tell you are better now and it was lovely reading the comments off all your friends. They were so concerned about you (as I was) but I can't do anything other than provide support in a virtual way. I hope it's good enough my friend, you're a special person from what I've seen on the MyLot site. I don't think you will have any problems whatsoever finding stuff regarding the wedding of the century online..and I'm not talking about mine either. Haha!

They seem to have intelligent heads on their shoulders. Kate will be protected by her husband rather than be "let loose" on the public on her own. I reckon they will do most things together, although Wills is still busy with his flying duties for the time-being. Whatever they choose to do, it will be worthwhile, I'm sure of that. None of this partying lark!

Hello, Janey. Yes, it was a great spectacle - so different to Charles and Diana's wedding. They looked really pleased to be getting married, and she looked positively stunning. I sat and watched it from when William and Harry left for the Abbey, right up until they appeared on the balcony, then I put it back on to see them leave the reception - much to my husband's disgust, but hey, it's a once in a generation event. I think they got the mixture just right - plenty of crowd-pleasing ceremony, yet it retained the feel of a family wedding. I wish them all the very best - and yes, I'm proud to be British today as well. Nobody does spectacle like the British, do they?

Hello, again. I just looked at the video - another stunner. She has a great sense of what suits her, doesn't she? I tell you what, I loved Camilla's outfit as well for the evening 'do,' and I felt that the outfit she wore for the ceremony was one of the best on show. Carole Middleton looked lovely as well. What a great day, and they both looked so relaxed as they came out tonight - as if they're really enjoying their day. It's a good start to a - hopefully - long and happy marriage.

Very true. This is why I was bursting with pride today. I mean, Westminster Abbey is older than America, it's just mind-boggling all the history involved. I'm so glad it wasn't a "stuffy" event but still (cleverly) retained its tradition. Did you see Kate's second dress? It's in the video up above if you missed it.

Wills and kate’s wedding became the focus of world attention for a time. Here, network news at seven every night relayed the grand occasion. Wills and Kate put on an old play of Prince and Cinderella.I think how difficult for them to get marriage under social estate system. What struck me most is that Kate’s blood brother said: must care for and love the people who came from poor family. It is regrettable that Princess Diana wasn’t present at their wedding.

I know, poor Diana, it is a shame that she is no longer with us. However, Prince Charles seems to have a new lease of life with Camilla and "the boys" and I've never seen him smile and laugh so much as he has done lately. Good for him. Also, it's been sunny since that wonderful day..everywhere this time. We had the sun up here in Cumbria on the wedding day but London didn't have so much. The sun has graced the whole country since, though! Hope it's a good omen!

Hi Janey, I am 71 years old, I live in Canada and I was up at 5:30 AM to watch the wedding ceremony. I love the all things royal, and I would not have missed it for anything. I continued to watch it for seven hours, which is when the CBC stopped it's coverage. There will be a repeat later today for those who couldn't watch it earlier. There has been so much bad news in the world in recent months that such a good news story was badly needed. I wish them a long and happy life together. Blessings.

Haha good for you, My mother watched it live in afternoon, on some channel. I was taking a nap that time, but i was curious why it was so much in news and all over the news papers so i thought i'd watch it. I also wanted to watch it cous i liked what i heard about princess Diana, she was a nice lady. Hope they never break up, like everyone wishes over there. The kinda background she has, she sounds like a down to earth person. Anyways, hope it all goes well.

Yes, she does seem down to earth which is probably what attracted Wills to her in the first place. They seem to laugh a lot when they're together, unlike Charles and Di. I learned today that Charles had only met Diana 13 times before they got married, hardly a recipe for a long-lasting relationship. Such a shame she was used as a baby-making machine, then he went back to Camilla. However, since he has married Camilla the whole Royal Family has relaxed and it shows.
