Now that Disney has announced that there will be no more Princess movies, which one is your favorite and why? Mine was Belle for the longest time. I loved how she liked to read and was a truly caring person. Now, though, I adore Rapunzel. She is just so fun and caring. So I guess my top three would be
1. Rapunzel
2. Belle
3. Jasmine
How about yours?e

No more princesses? That's just wrong. The Disney Princesses are wonderful. Generations of women have grown up with the adventures of those girls.
I don't know why Disney would stop production of them, but I can guess that the feminist movement had something to do with it, advocating that the princesses are somehow sexist ideals. GRRRR.
Almost all the women I know have affection for Disney Princess. As for my favorites:
1. Belle
2. Aurora (Sleeping Beauty)
3. Ariel

Agreed. Why not make Princess movies that appeal to both (Rapunzel bridged that gap nicely) and Cars movies that appeal to both. It doesn't make sense to me to separate them out like that. Girls and boys are varied. There are boys who like the fantasy world of Princess films and girls who like the tech world of cars. To get rid of one because it's too girly or to boy centric is a marketing mistake. No matter how much they try to make this non-gender something out there, kids like their gender specific stuff. Girls still buy Barbie (their parents do) and boys still buy Hot Wheels.

The way they put it, it makes sense but I don't like it. It costs too much money to make a girls movie and a boy movie (Princess vs Cars). They planned on making more non-gender specific movies like Toy Story. I can see why, but I think that getting rid of Princess movies will be a huge mistake.

It's so sad that Disney announced no princess movie for the time being. When I was small, I always wanted to read princess stories of Disney like snow white, Cinderella, Belle and Rapunzel. Later on there came Mulan, Jasmine and Arielle. Then I got to watch Enchanted with Giselle. Each princess story has it great character and portray good values more than their weaknesses. I can't choose who is the best for me. I love them all. I think I love watching them more than my daughter does. Maybe because I grew with Disney's princesses and Mickey mouse and all their other characters. I just love everything Disney.

I love all Disney too. I hope that they change their mind...the Princesses make up a lot of the magic of Disney and I noticed that Tangled did amazingly well in theaters, which their new Mars Needs Moms flopped. That might give them a huge heads up that they should not change something that works!!

That's such a tough question! Belle is great because she's intelligent, and not at all interested in Gaston's looks. But I also loved Jasmine because she was feisty and independent.
I'm not sure who my third would be...I guess Meg doesn't really count since she isn't a princess but she had a great attitude (and some good songs). Possibly Pocahontas, for her link with nature or Mulan for the initiative she takes in going in her father's place.

I would count Meg. She may not be a princess but she did have a great attitude and the songs! Yes, I agree. I think Hercules does not get enough credit...
