I am a freebie/sample/couponer. Been doing fine for years with it. Now, however, I see when I go to obtain the freebie or sample or even coupons...MANY of the offers, you now how to log onto your facebook account, check "Like" on the offer page and then they will send you the freebie...at least I assume they will. I don't have much knowledge about fB as I don't do it much...to many reasons to list as to why I don't facebook, but.... Have any of you obtained freebies/samples/coupons by going this route? What has been your experience with it? I just don't see why logging into facebook is a good thing...now that advertiser has all your information to use as they please and all you get is a sample...maybe. Plus..seems it is just getting harder and harder to get freebies/samples than it was just a year ago. Why are they all going via Facebook now? I figure it is sthe comapanys choice and maybe they think that if their site is your "friend" it will get them more advertising and customers, but if you get multiple freebies...your FB page is filled with their little ad posts...what does that do to your page? Turning it into nothing but a page of advertisments. Yes, you can go delete them, but the company still has your info and the time it takes, not only to have to go via facebook to get the sample, but now..to go back through and delete the ads they place on your page. So..what's the deal? Anyone got any comments? Maybe I am just not savey on FB to understand it, but it just seems like so much info I give, for only a small freebie or cents off coupon..they get more than they giv! Thanks for comments!

I was told about a freebie on facebook by two great myLot friends here, who are aware that I have really bad sinus problems. So I went there to take a look and was asked so much personal information, that I was skeptical. So what I did was not use my primarily email address and took a look at the astrick fields that were really required to be filled in and was not sure if I would get my free (very expensive), product and guess what I did, just 3 days ago so glad I did fill in what was needed. So my suggestion would be to do the same, look carefully on the fields and if not necessary to put in date of birth/phone numbers then only enough to get the product. I suppose they do so to send more promotions later and or information of perhaps new and upcoming products.

I have not had to open my profile from private if that is what you are asking. Basically the marketers are reaching out in Facebook, simply as a marketing tool. The offers have nothing to do with the applications and or facebook itself they just need to know if their marketing dollars are being spent well. So by signing up via Facebook it tells them how many in a given time period actually looked at their promotion via facebook. You can see the freebies TOS where and if it says you information is used for other purposes or not.

I am not a facebook liker muchless lover! But if it works for you that's all that matters. I just do a few of them, simply cause I don't know what of my facebook profile the manufacture will have access to...and how much of that they give access to other couponers that now can see my wall/page. Plus, I don't think any of my friends deal with coupons so there they have to weed through all that to get to the chat posts. I've done a few and then went back and deleted/disliked the post, but I don't know if that will delete me from getting ones in the future from that same place. Oh well...life goes on and I will check out your page. I had a blog for all the freebies and samples I would get...but it just got to much work and not enough viewers so I stopped it.
