I have to study Differential Calculus. Limits?Continuity? I can't understand the textbook. It looks to complicatedI can't comprehend these deep terms. I tried studying on my own but it seems to hard. I want to understand Calculus better starting with the limits. I wanted to understand it bettter, not to get high grades. I passed in my Algebra, Geometry and trigonometry subjects but Calculus really intimidates
Any tips or suggestions you could give will surely help.
Is the Calculus for Dummies book a reliable one?

I'm a Math major and I took differential calculus as a very easy Math subject. Actually, it was not easy at the start. I tried to take self advance study for the subject but the same as you, I can't understand some of its terms. Then I wait for the right time to study it. When our professor taught the subject, I discovered that it is a very easy one. So I advise you to study it with your class. Calculus is a bit different from algebra and trigonometry.

are you taking up engineering bro? i also find calculus as the hardest subject for me (differential) but what i did is that every time i have a free time, i solve similar mathematical problems.. you wont get it at first but spend at least 20 minutes a day on solving a problem.. solve the same problem until you can grasp how the solution was done and eventually you can find that other problems are not that hard as it seems..

To understand the subject requires diligence and effort considering that calculus is a form o higher math. It takes a lot of reading also because the ideas have to be conceptualized in order to understand it more. There are plenty of books out there and I suggest you buy some of them. By the I would suggest buying books which has foreign authors. I'm not discriminating but I find many books authored by local professors to be complicated and so I prefer those books with foreign authors as they explained the concept more clearly and in details.

with regards to continuity, it is connected to limits, once you can't understand the basics of limits, you will never understand the continuity of limits. learning from the internet also helps because it gives a thorough discussions on each topic. actually, differential calculus is just a easy subject if you know how to manipulate and simplify equations because it is the very foundation of calculus. on limits, for example, the given is, the limit of 2X as x approaches 2 . the answer is 4 because you will just substitute the 2 to x will will make 2 multiply to 2. that's the very basic of limits.

Math as a whole is a difficult subject for me. I've taken Calculus twice. The first one was in high school and the second one was in college. I didn't really get high grades but I didn't fail as well. The secret is you listen to your professor and copy down his or her notes. Then study it afterwards and solve similar problems. :)
