I say absolutely YES!! I have seen many misunderstand another and jump to conclusions and make a nasty remark. I wish they would ask for clarification before they just assume the worse.
This also follows the old advice of 'judge not'. Another thing to keep in mind, especially on myLot, is English is a second language for some and they may have accidentally said something that you felt offended and they never meant to offend. What do you think?

Hi, I completly agree with you. We shouldn't come to any conclusions when something in unclear or unsure. Many people can not express their feelings properly in English as it is their second langauge.

It is important to give others the benefit of the doubt as long as you don't forget you can't trust everyone. Being judgmental is something that is instilled in many Americans at a young age. I suggest thinking outside the box when meeting or analyzing new people. Accept that you really have no clue about them and have lots to learn.

Yes, and we do all have a Choice to see the good or see the bad in people. I must see the good. As for those who struggle because English is their second language,I think you are wonderful to meet the rest of us more than half way to communicate. Language is a funny thing. Even people of the same language misunderstand each other. So carry on. Your interaction with us is great!!

I t hink it is important to always give someone the benefit of the doubt. You can just never be sure what truths will be reveled when we don't give that benefit where it is due.

I personally feel that giving the benefit of the doubt is the only way we can build and develop trust. It will also allow us to see if the person is trying. Sometimes some people really mean well and at times they need a little reminder.

I agree, giving the benefit of the doubt is great advice. I do think people need to realize even if English is your first language, people all have different learning curves. This fact alone can cause confusion or misunderstandings. I think it's actually a great opprotunity for us all to learn on Mylot. Not just about ourselves. But also other people and their ways of life/culture. I really enjoy the discussions. I've learned to work through some of the word misunderstandings and motor on. Best Wishes!
