Hi! I am an owner of a small toy dog. I have her for 5 years now. She's like the youngest of the family already. My mom and dad adores her and even spend so much for the little angel we have. However, just recently, we adopted a stray kitten. Now, the kitten has already grown and every time my dog sees her, she gets jealous and rages like hell whenever. And the poor cat gets really scared every time. I don't know to get the two get along. I can see some dogs and cats on tv get along. it's so frustrating already.

Cat and dog relationship - These two got along like a house on fire. Here they are sharing a bone together.
Please give them time and they will be the best of friends. In fact our Bull Terrier Rana who is supposed to be a terror was so nice to our cat. They would eat from the same plate. She would lick him up dry after his bath and they would even share the same bed. Whenever she littered she would want to have Rana with her. He would pick those kittens with utmost care and they all got along like a house on fire.

You need to monitor their togetherness for some time and it is possible not the dog but the cat could pull out her claws and hurt your dog's eyes. That is what my cat did when they first met.

Give them some time. Don't force them upon one another. We have 4 cats inside and back in October we got a Min Pin. The cats weren't real happy about this at first, but now Jasper, and the cats lay side by side peacefully. I actually had more trouble bringing in the last of my cats, Little Bit. It has only been in the last month that the other cats don't go nuts when she is in the same room and we've had her since September. One thing I did do was take some lavender essential oil and rub it on everyone so they all smelled the same and relaxed some.

Its against their natural instinct to get along dear. Though there are exceptions but very few and far between for something like this. All the best with it, if you still want to keep trying...
