Hi jackjaga,
You are right. It is something like after climbing Mount Everest climbing minor hill or mountain.
People had not yet come out of the jubilant mood of winning the cup after 28 years then started this ipl. Surely the viewer ship would go down.
Besides it is not a one week program, it it of 50 days. Even the stadium galleries were vacant in most of the games.
The uproar, the madness, the scream that were there in the earlier version of ipl were missing somewhere this time.
In my opinion there should have been at least two months interval between the World cup and the ipl.
What you and I can do?

Well, there should have been a bigger gap- at least 25 days between World cup cricket and IPL 4.

I totally agree with you.
after this worldcup.
the the viewers for IPL has been dimnished.
India won the world cup that may be the one key reason.
and another point is the inclusion of new teams have not been good.
I think the no: of matches in the IPl should be cut down, then only the tournament will become interesting.

Yes, after the World cup 2011 fever, IPL has not bought that much interest. However, I have got some interest since last week or so. I watched Chennai Super Kings v/s Deccan Chargers match yesterday and Delhi Daredevils-Royal Challengers Bangalore match last week with a very keen interest.
I also hope to watch the IPL final with huge interest.

Hai Jack Jaga the interest to see cricket is from the heart.of course after seeing World Cup Matches IPL would be boring for some people. But I am not in that case.I think that in IPL many players who could play well won't be in the team like Rohit Sharma,Ishant Sharma,Robin Uthappa etc...So it is nice feel for me when such Players play well in IPL games and more than the Team Performance I would Pray for Individual Player to Play well.

Its' purely a case of too much cricket. In 2012 we are again going to have ICC world T20 tournament and IPL!!!
God this is much more then just overdose. BCCI should think wisely on this.
