It's so hard for me to work as a nurse here in the Philippines. Although it is my innate nature to care and serve others, I just can't seem to find happiness in my career. I really want to pursue being in business. I feel like I want to be my own boss, and have control on my own time,. It's really hard especially if this is the profession my family wants for me... :( Maybe, earning more than enough would change my mind.lol. But I will still be much happier to be a businesswoman. Any advice?

yes, indeed its true..you cant work easily in a hospital..were sharing the same dilemma in looking for a job.
the moment you applied for a job and you cant feel any pressure, fear, anxiety. its a sign that you are not interested or excited for the job!.
right now,its your own decision to make.. theres nothing wrong in trying a business.. just follow your heart and pray always! Godbless:)

Do it! Don't make others influence your decision as the most important thing is determination. Prepare yourself mentally and physically to try new field like try to run some business. Determination, honest and guts. When you have those three you do not have to care about what others think about you.

Before I answer, let me ask you: What is your passion? What are things you enjoy doing it and you can explore it?from that, you know exactly what you should do. I used to work as front liner in British organization, but I didn`t enjoy it,I wasn`t happy working behind the desk, while my previous jobs were reporter and English teacher. Now I am grateful that I am a translator and reporter for a monthly soccer magazine, which is really ME. my teamwork is great,my managing editor is really supportive, the location is not that far..nice..

I am a Medical technology student here in the Philippines. I literally not use it for work. I studied it for my personal intentions for curing or assisting my loved ones. I prefer business because most of the rich people do it and poor people don't. We all knew that having a business is hard but great reward will come. Being an employee is also hard but not guarantee you success. I do Multi-level Marketing as training ground for me to be successful in business career. Hope you will find your heart's happiness. Burn that desire and wish you more luck and prosperity.

nowadays a lot of people are unemployed so whenever they get a job, they try to grab the opportunity without thinking if they're happy with it or not.But later they would eventually quit the job bec. they feel that they don't belong. Happiness, satisfaction and you feel that you belong is the secret ingredients why someone is hooked to his job no matter what it is........

Life is too short not to be happy and pursue the things you want. You can still explore other things to find out what you're really passionate about. Make a plan and do something everyday that brings you closer to your goal. Is it possible to take a leave of absence from your job to explore other things? Maybe you can volunteer or find a business mentor to help you figure out which direction you want to go in. Join organizations and seek out people in the field you want to go into and get advice from them.

Being in business for yourself has both its pros and its cons. Yes, you become your own boss, but your income depends on the success of your business. I have found that I actually work a lot harder now than I did when my income relied upon an employer. I have to work hard at not only doing the job and keeping my clientele happy, I also have to work at keeping my books and records straight.
Having worked in the nursing industry before, I can definately understand the stressfulness of that job. You are constantly under pressure to do, not only what your boss and the doctor's tell you to do, but to also do what you know is right for your patients. Sometimes, those things are not all the same, then you have to struggle with yourself deciding what to do. This industry is not an easy one to work in at all.
My best advice to you would be to work on both things at the same time. Do not quit your job as a nurse until you have your desired business set up and running well. It takes a while to get a business running to the point where it is really feasable to not have a solid and dependable income to rely on. If you work on building your business when you have time off from your nursing job, you will continue to have that income and position to rely on while you build your business and until your business is to the point where the income exceeds what you are currently making.
This also gives you the chance to decide if being in business for yourself is really what you want to do. If you decide that it isn't really for you, then, as long as you are still working at your current job, you still have that income and you haven't lost anything.

I have a small piece of advise. Pursue your Passions, and learn to make money doing the things you love, if it is helping people live better, you could try, private personal care, or get into nutritional distribution, have a health spa, or a medical aid store, your options are quite limitless.
As with the family situation, they only want what they think is best for you, but only YOU can decide what is best for you, follow your heart regardless of their wants, they will still love you, no matter what you do.
Sincerely and With Appreciation.

If a job is not giving your life any kind of satisfaction, than it may not be the job for you. it often takes us so long and so much effort to realize that fact.

I've always found that if I'm not happy at a job, it's time to start looking for something different. If I hate going to work or really just don't want to go, I know that I'm unhappy. My job now, I really don't mind going to work. I mean, no one LOVES working, but I don't mind being there at all.
You said you're a nurse... what kind of setting are you in? Are you in a hospital, doctor's office, etc? Maybe it's the setting that is getting to you. I'm also the type of person who likes being a caregiver and helping others. Maybe it's time you tried a different setting and see if that helps bring you happiness. If not, maybe you are in the wrong career!

You have to do what makes you happy, even if it is not what your family wants you to do. If you want to be a business woman, you should save up for a business, or go back to school for business. My mom is a nurse, so I know how hard the work can be. If you are unhappy with just your job, there are many different types of nurses, and maybe it is where you are working at and the people you have to work with. My mom always wanted to work with babies, but she ended up on the Neurological floor and her patients can be hard work including seizure patients, neuro-syphilis, dementia, brain trauma, brain cancer/tumors, so she is kind of unhappy with her work because its really hard work and at times gross... but she still tries to be the best nurse she can be and she is good at it. If you like to have control, you should try to get a position or work for a position as a charge nurse.

Hi! I think it would be better if you follow your decisions. If you can, why not venture into business even you have a regular job. In that way your parents will not be against it. I think the signs that a job is not the suitable one if you dont feel enjoyment, happiness and love for work.

i also have a friend who was forced to take a course she did not like. but after pursuing that course and working as a caregiver for 3 years already, she still did not find her heart in that area. but she continued working for another 2 years with the goal to save more money. and now she has her own restaurant. her family accepted that, and luckily her restaurant did not fail. it may not be easy, but just prove to many people that you can d good at the desire of your heart. :)
