How do you attend church?

Some people go to a physical church building each weekly or several times a week. Some people can't physically go out of their home, so they may watch church services via television. Some people only watch church services via the Internet, due to transportation issues or other "life" factors. So how do you attend service? Do you do it one way all of the time? Do you do a combination of the above scenarios? Or do you see attend church as a necessity in life at all? For my wife and I we do a combination of the above several times a week. We see attending church, whether in person or via technology as a vital necessity in our Christian walk and life. How do you attend church?

When I was in my teenage days I used to go to church every Sunday. My grandma used to tell us (me and my brother) to go to church because it is our obligation. So I have to go there every Sunday. Then when I was a high school student I attended Christian School. Their teaching and the environment teach me to be in church every Monday, Wednesday and Sunday. Fortunately I was one of the choir member so as often as I can I go to church. Now I am married and sometimes I couldn't go to church like I used to for some reasons, I watched the service via TV or do my personal prayer. I think what is important is our FAITH to HIM.

babyEj, that is so great to hear! Reading your response, it reminds me of how my mother used to walk me to church every Sunday, and whenever there was a special speaker in town. My mom used to watch Jim Whittington (I know I missed up his last name) on television, and whenever he would come into town, no matter what day of the week it was, we would go to see this man. I remember going to see him on a Saturday at our civic center in our town then he took all of the participants to lunch at Po Folks. He took all of us by bus there and paid for the lunch and the bus transportation there. It was so remember-able experience for me. I totally agree with you babyEj that the most important thing is our FAITH in Him, however I'd like to add, the constant, consistent development in our relationship to him.

{b]_sketch_ I know quite a few people who are not religious and still attend church. Whether you are or are not. Churches have a vital impact in various communities. Like the church my wife and I attend. We provide food and clothes to people in need. There is a vital need for those services in our community. We don't just provide the services to our members either, rather to the members of the communities and even those who are genuinely in dire need of those services. It is such a blessing to see people (no matter) whether or not they are religious, or believe the word of God as we do as Christians. It simply is heartwarming to be able to provide those people with the things they are in need of most at the time in which they have expressed they would like help! Have a good day _sketch_!

This morning I am listening to our local church service as well as some other Christian programming on the radio station. There are some reasons why we cannot attend church today. When we visit family we attend with them. My brother is a pastor. My daughter and son in law are very involved in their home church. I am often in church multiple times per week.

@GG, I know exactly what you mean. Our son hurt his elbow and shin of his leg yesterday, when he slipped on a plastic bag in the bathroom. My primary focus today was to watch service over the Internet and monitor him as he receives his healing from God. We iced his leg and this morning he said it felt much better. He could move his arm now with limited range of motion. Much better than yesterday, when he couldn't hardly move his arm. JOY definitely came this morning!

Most people go church a maybe like 4 times a week here in the Caribbean. At my church you have church service on Sunday, and Sunday night. Monday night Prayer Meeting and Wednesday Bible Study, and Friday is Youth Meeting. For me i go service on Sunday an i like Bible study is that i can learn more about the bible. Church is the best place to go,no matter how much times per week as long as we are hearing the word of God.

tash01 You hit the nail on the head. And that truly is the most important part of attending church to "hear the word of God." But you know we must not only be hearers only, but we must be doers as well! At our church services are offered every Wednesday & Friday mornings and nights and Sunday mornings. We also offer Saturday morning prayer meetings, and then women prayer meetings on the 2nd Monday of each month. Then men prayer meetings on the 3rd Monday of each month.

The proper way of worshiping God must not be based on man-made rules and traditions. The true God gives people the rules and guidelines on proper worship and expects them to follow these. In other words, for a worship to suit His standard, the worshiper must toe the line-being ever particular and punctilious in the kind of worship he renders to the One for whom he intends it. (Dt.12:1,5-6,11-14,30-32;Rom.102-3).The true worshipers are required to attend the gathering together of the faithfuls or the congregational worship service on a regular basis, and not only during calamities, disasters, pr in times of great need, such as when one is sick (Heb.10-25). The gathering together of true worshipers is characterized by orderliness, and not by confusion. Part of the command of orderliness is the requirement that the worshipers present themselves to God "in holy array" (Ps 96:1-3,8-9,Revised Standard Version). "Holy Array" is an expression indicating proper attire, such as garments that are clean and fitting for the sacred occasion. Thus, worshiping God Almighty as man's inherent obligation for His Creator should be dome in accordance with the teaching written in the Bible. It is only the proper worship that God considers worthy and acceptable.

The worshipers must not follow their own desires or prefer religious teachers. It was observed that many people who did not usually attend religious gatherings suddenly flocked to places of worship after September 11 only to have a feeling of reassurance. The worshipers should lead a righteous way of life. Otherwise, their worship is abominable in the sight of God. The true worshipers worship the true God in spirit and in truth.

Funny how individuals take a simply question of how do you attend church and twist it and directly response to something that they interpreted the question to mean to them. So how do you attend service? Do you do it one way all of the time? Do you do a combination of the above scenarios in my original start of this discussion, or do you see attend church as a necessity in life at all? Ultimately I'm asking for your personal opinion about whether your attend church or don't attend church and how often, if at all?
