being old school I usually link games with fun but today almost every game is linked to $$$$ lots of money...What do you think does money take the fun out of games?

if your pertaining to "getting paid while playing", course, who wouldn't want to earn while they enjoy..do you know any site that pays you to play..?
but spending for games(top-up cards for example)..? that's pretty darn thing..paying "REAL" money just to have "VIRTUAL" items..? it's like burning you money..

It depends for me. Some games (arcade games like pogo.com has) I would never consider paying a dime for. However, certain games like first person shooter games that I play online where the download is free, I would definitely consider paying a little bit ($20 a month max)for extras that make game play more enjoyable.
So, while money adds fun, I can see where having to spend it can take the fun out as well, as usually you are limited to what and how long you can play for free. But, I also understand that it costs money to create games for our amusement, so they need to be making a little too.
It's kind of the same concept of buying video games in the store. You're willing to buy the game, but I wouldn't pay a monthly fee ON TOP OF THAT to keep playing. I'd buy upgraded versions, sure, but I wouldn't pay an outrageous amount to keep playing.

I personally like games for fun and that are free. When you have free games with the option to pay money, it usually means the money you pay makes the game more easier when you play. The money does make it easier, but I believe if you play the game the harder way, you'll get more out of it and enjoy it more.
