Now that we are the world champions, I really do not worry about the No. 1 rankings. Actually speaking the No. 1 ranking only matters in Tests where there is no single world cup kind of tournament. In both T20s and ODIs the world cup is more important than No. 1 position.
Cheers!

Thank you ram cv yes I think you are right when you have won the world cup why does you bother about rankings in ODI.But I feel India has a great chance to b number 1 so let us pray India should be no 1 in ratings also.

Rankings doesn't say it all as Aussies are currently the number 1 side in ODI but aren't the world champions. But it just feels so good to be the no. 1 side in both tests and ODI to prove the dominance. I think India now plays a 5 match ODI series against west Indies which I think India should win... however, India would gain less points as West Indies aren't higher rating. But their next ODI assignment is against England with whom India have a very good record in ODI. So, if they manage to win the series against them and the series in Australia, I think India have a very good chance of moving to the number 1 spot in ODI too...

yes, India can achieve that feat if they can win the upcoming ODI series. There is WI and England tour ahead in the year 2011. If they can win and more precise if they can manage a clean sweep, India can topple Aussies. After losing to India in the quarter final Australia should have gone to second place. But I don't know why they are still maintaining the top spot. Whatever it is just the matter of time for India to be numero uno of ODI too. Counting for that day. Good Luck India
