Typo and grammatical errors on submitted posts

I am so disappointed with myself! Why do I have to see the typo/grammatical errors in my posts only after they have been submitted? Even if I preview my post first and read not just once but even twice or thrice before submitting, why is it that more often than not, I could not spot grammatical/typo errors that way?
It is now more than ever that I wish myLot has edit feature (same as that of mypage5)? I wish we are given the chance to edit even after submission.

Yes, that would be good too, I have been looking for an edit button before since I also get grammatical and spelling errors even after I reviewed my post.. Fortunately mylot users don't really mind these errors too much.

But me I do really mind. It is such an embarrassing thing to me and I feel like stupid when I do that. Some may not be so unmindful for they get paid anyway even with those errors but to me , I think it is my responsibility to make my posts meaningful, helpful and grammatically correct.
Thanks for sharing, have a productive day!

Personally I have done this, and sometimes do not notice it until I hit the post response button. We could always hit the Preview Response button before submitting but sometimes you still miss it as well. An edit feature button would be Great as well as a Delete button at times as well. But I guess this will never change.

I think all of us in one way or another have experienced the same blunder and so all of us would surely love if an edit feature is added. But you are right, this will never change! Thanks for sharing and do have a nice day!

It is only after I hit the submit button that I notice the error and then it is too late to do anything about it. I haven't been on here in a while and I don't seem to be with it. I have made many mistakes and I am embarassed about it.

Hi! Well this confirms that I am not really alone in this kind of situation. But despite this it is still quite embarrassing to see typos on your own posts. Thanks for responding sweetbabyjane. You've been absent for quite a while. I hope you are doing well.

hi, salonga.
had that many disappointments and frustrations. but with my case, i usually do not preview that is why.
i console myself with the thought that i am not alone. and it could happen with the best of mylotters. this is the reason, too, why i cannot tell somebody if the subject and the predicate do not agree, or the tense that was used was wrong. i cannot play God ha ha ha (jokingly yours)
do not worry, dear. this post seems okay.

Hi binskee, if you don't preview then it is understandable. But me...I do preview and yet I still could not spot mistakes perfectly. Ha!ha!ha! Well I've been trying to avoid this really but still unsuccessful. I think this really happens and I just have to accept the reality.

At least you proof read your post! I do it too. But it seems like a heck of a lot of mylotters just post without rereading. Several people say they just want to post as quickly as they can and don't care if they misspell words accidentally (although what bugs me is when people misuse the words loose and lose). I mean not knowing how to spell a word is different than just a careless mistake. So it would be nice if everyone took the time to look over their discussion before they posted it. I sometimes miss my mistakes even after rereading, but at least we try.

Yes at least we must do something to avoid mistake. Mistake we do commit because we are but human. But if we don't care whether we commit mistake or not all because we are rushing to post as many as we can then that is another thing. I think it is so embarrassing to see posts filled with grammatical and typographical errors under my name.
Thanks for sharing. Do enjoy your day!

Hi salonga! It happens most of the time to me. I'm still learning english so sometimes I do not know if it is the right one or not. I'm still thankful for these red lines which marks a misspelled word. Sometimes typing in a hurry, typing without thinking or hurriedly submitting my post makes me do a lot of typos and grammatical errors. Though I'm not confident about my grammar, I'll do my best. I also do wish we had that post editing feature here in mylot. Happy mylotting!

Yes sending posts hurriedly is not advisable because such would most likely result to erroneous posts. It is nice to hear that you like to do your best though you are not confident with your grammar. That is a very nice attitude. Keep up.

Well its no use blaming yourself because it happens even to the best of us who took Masteral studies in English. Just don't be hard on yourself. As long as the other people here understands what you are trying to say then you are okay, no need for such perfection after all that is not the purpose of this posts and forums.

Oh yes, thanks for your advice. I am just disappointed for after proofreading not just once but even twice, I failed to spot the mistakes still. But yes, it lightens my heart to know that this happens to most people here. Thanks!

I feel the same whenever I found out that I posted something with grammatical errors, but as you've said, we couldn't do anything to correct the mistakes.
But I think it is possible that MyLot will have that feature in the near future. =)

hello,

Yeah, it is just so embarrassing even if others do understand and consider the mistakes inadvertent I could not help but get mad at myself. I don't understand why when I am proofreading my own work it is so hard for me to spot the mistakes all at once. I hope I could overcome this weakness!
Thanks for sharing and have a nice day!

Actually I don't really care about typos and grammatical errors. I mean as long as people understand what you're saying, I think it's fine. So yeah don't stress =D Have a wonderful day ya.

You are not? Ha!ha!ha! Well that way you are not really stressed with those typos! Good for you! But I could not be like you. I have always been concerned about the kind of writing I present and post so I feel really bad when I do post erroneous ones.

Hey there Salonga! It's okay. People here in myLot look at the content and not the structure of your sentence. Besides, people here don't judge you for your grammar. I don't even think they judge you for anything. :) Don't mind the typos. As long as you are happy in posting. :)

Yes, thanks for your advice. I know that most people here do not really care or judge me for grammar. The problem is I am the one very concerned and I am disappointed because I failed to satisfy myself. When I post, I want it perfect to my liking as much as possible.

I feel the same way you do. When I type my fingers cannot keep up with my thoughts and eventually I mess up somewhere. An edit feature would be pretty nice on MyLot as it would help so many users. :)

In my case my mind runs faster than my fingers so I'd miss some important word unintentionally. My fingers just could not cope with my fast mind and it results in typos. I always check my works but it is just so hard for me to spot mistakes maybe because my eyes are not that bright anymore.

Hi there,
It happens to the best of us. I have noticed a few myself and only can surmise perhaps I go too fast at times that I am not spotting them on preview. The other thing too I have noticed is with my Firefox is that the spell check changes a few of my words and while previewing them I am not catching them either.
The only thing I can think about not being able to edit is that there would be too many conflicts for Admin to be able to moderate them later.

Yes, that is consoling to note. It happens not just to me. Maybe I should be more, more careful in proofreading starting today. If indeed it would take too many conflicts for Admin to put up an Edit feature then it is up for me solve this problem myself (Whew!).
Have a nice day and thanks a lot for sharing in this discussion!
