if you happen to be here in the Philippines and actually live here in Metro Manila, you would know what i'm talking about. since the beginning of the month, it's like almost everyday i hear the sirens coming from the firetrucks. fire here, fire there. accidents here that causes uncontrolled fire activity (sorry) happens. what's up with this? a friend of mine lost their house recently due to fire... on March. last Saturday, March 30th, we were on the road from Mall of Asia (MOA) to Eastwood and the traffic was really heavy because of the firetrucks. i just fond it weird... fire prevention month indeed.

March is called Fire Prevention Month because authorities realize that March is the start of summer and this is the time when we would be hyping up with the use of electrical appliances such as air-conditioners and electric fans to ease up the heat. Unfortunately, people add up appliances without taking into consideration the current capacity of their respective fuse box. Fire Prevention Month is observed every month to remind people to be safe and be aware of the possibilities of fire breaking out. Most of the fires during summertime are caused by overloading, if you care to notice. Fire Prevention Month is not a myth. It is a well-established practice.
