difference between teh dual core adn teh i3 processor?

difference between the dual core and the i3 processor? whats the difference.. the speed of the processor or what/

The Intel core i3 is a dual core processor. Or did you mean a core 2 duo because the main difference is architecture. the core i3 is more modern so it will run faster than the core 2 duo of the same clock speed.

well, i am about to buy a new laptop, that is why i asked, i guess i will be buying the i3 one.... thanks for the reply :)

I have i3 and i think it's the option of hyper-threading. When i use speedfan i also see 4 readings as if the dual core i3 processor is pretending to have 4 cores. Don't know any of this things for sure but i can tell you i3 is great and it also comes with easy tune programs that can boost it for gaming with a push of the button so you don't need to overcloock it manually.
