most of the people I know, especially those in the music field that they prefer the old songs because they have a deeper meaning and the melody is very authentic for them. how about you? what do you prefer?

I prefer the Oldies and RnB. Depends on the music if it has meaning or a good beat.

Yup I agree to that. as long as it has meaning for me I will definitely listen to it over and over again. And also the beat must be entertaining and fits the song well.

When it comes to art like movies, novels, paintings and music, I do not hold any preference. For me if a song makes me feel good, then I would like it, even if its as old as Frank Sinatra, or as new as Bruno mars, as noisy as linkin park or as lousy as justin beiber. I don't want to limit my music by genre, or timelines.

same here. I just don't limit my music in one genre, but I don't like very loud music, linkin park is OK because it is not that loud anyway but I cannot take the band corn, I don't even understand a single word from their song it is just noise for me. I don't like Justin Bieber too, he's songs are too lousy for me.. sorry for that, but that's the way I feel about his songs.

Oldies, as I feel like you say, they have deeper meanings plus are generally more skilful as regards singing, words, performance, arrangement....and, above all, originality.

It all depends on the mood for me, really. There are times that I really dig the old songs, but there are times that I come back to the present and listen to the newer ones. I agree, though, that old songs have a deeper meaning. But, sometimes the new ones are fun.

When it comes to the meanings of the songs, i prefer the older ones. But when it comes to the tempo of the songs, i prefer the new ones, because usually they are of a happy tempo.

i think that most people prefer the oldies because it's the music we grew up with. i have a problem adopting any music not done in the '50's, '60's, and '70's, although of course there has been very good music done in earlier and later years.

I agree with you. because when my father is not busy in work and just stays at home he always play music of his time, although my siblings and I are not really into it we learn to like it little by little. Now, we are very much familiar with more song even if it is in 60's, 70's or 80's. hahaha

I like listening to the oldies, bringing back the beautiful memories of the time. No doubt, the decades have their unique songs too. One of my favorite oldies is "Tennessee Waltz". The lyric is so nice and the waltz music is very enchanting. And, brings back the memories of the decade !
