Hello mylotters, here below is a wikipedia definition of beatification. Says to recognize, to intercede on behalf of individual who pray - meaning you can pray to John Pope II to permission if you want to enter into heaven, what is missing? The works done by Jesus which is our mediator, our interceder, our door or way to heaven.
"Beatification (from Latin beatus, blessed) is a recognition accorded by the Catholic Church of a dead person's entrance into Heaven and capacity to intercede on behalf of individuals who pray in his or her name (intercession of saints). Beatification is the third of the four steps in the canonization process. A person who is beatified is given the title "Blessed"."
Ok that is on for Catholic but do you in favor for such action of vatican which John Pope II considered blessed and like Jesus.... do you have in mind... see you around

there is no way that i believe that. GOD forbids that act. there is only one GOD but HIM.people nowadays are becoming obsessed with other people and that they made them idols. they just don't think of what they're doing. things are just about common things.don't indulge yourself in stuffs when you know only crazy people do. this is just an opinion. peace to all!

Hi Visavis. If the catholic church just want to give recognition to those who they think have done Godly things here on earth, I think there is no problem at all. All of us can be given recognition. But if you put a person as equal to God and also give him the things that we should only give to God (e.g Worship) then it is truly wrong. In many times, once a person has become a saint, the catholic also give worship unto to this person (which tantamount to having idols) and the bible clearly says that there should be no other god than Our Lord.

I was a catholic once and I was blinded for what is the truth, when I became a Christian I learned to read the bible and I knew the truth and the truth has set me free. According to the bible in Deuteronomy 32:39 "See now that I,I am He, and there is no god beside Me". And so there is no way I consider John Pope II like Jesus because there is only one God, our mission is to worship,to serve God and us to be His disciples.
