People are cheering that Osama is dead. Am I happy he is dead? No. Am I sad he is dead? No. I don't have any horses in that race so it makes no difference to me. Yes he has done some evil things. I can understand people cheering but to me it's a little strange. I guess I'd feel differently if he was captured alive and made to pay for his crimes maybe pay some restitution or rot in a cold jail cell never to see the light of day. His death doesn't chance much IMHO. Are you happy Osama is dead?

MURDER is taking INNOCENT life. Osama bin Laden was not innocent by any means.
There is a difference between taking innocent life, and killing a person who is guilty of taking innocent life.

I've said it before and I'll say it again--if I said I was not happy, I'd be lying. So I understand, he was given the opportunity to surrender. He didn't take it. His own fault coupled over his own fault if true.
There's a good many things to have sympathy for. He is not one of them as far as I'm concerned. As I'll say for anyone else in such a scenario, the only thing I hate is he chose to live his life, directly or indirectly, harming and killing others who had never done anything to him.

First, thank you for your kind words up above.
Second, I believe in justice. There was justice done when he was killed. BUT, I also believe that it is a fine line we walk, we stand in danger of becoming like our enemies if we let vengence grow in our heart. It is good to stop evil, it is evil to let yourself become what you are fighting against. Like I said, it is a fine line between the two.
Murder is taking innocent life, killing an evil man isn't murder. I agree with you that there is no sympathy for Osama bin Laden in the hearts of us who know this. But I will caution people that they must not rejoice out of revenge. Rejoice instead that right has triumphed over wrong.
