After being on the top of the table for most part of the tournament, Mumbai Indians had drifted down to third position after their loss to Rajasthan Royals. That was only their second loss in the tournament the previous being against Kochi tuskers. They now moved back to the top of the table after beating KXIP today in Mumbai. Put in to bat by KXIP after winning the toss, Mumbai Indians scored imposing 159 for 5 thanks to brilliant half centuries by Tendulkar and Rayadu. Both scored 51, Tendulkar of 45 balls and Rayadu of just 37 balls. In reply KXIP could just manage 136 for 8 by the end of the innings. Harbhajan, Malinga and Patel all taking 2 wickets each. Marsh and Valthaty impressed with the bat scoring 47 and 33 respectively. No other batsman could reach 15, the things started badly for them as Gichrist fell in the first over without troubling the scorers. Mumbai Indians ultimately won by 23 runs a great margin in T20 format.

Hi divakar, What is going wrong with the KXIP that after a convincing start they are now onthe losing track? You just can not say that they do not have good players, but something is a miss with them. On the other hand 'Mumbai Indians' are doing better than last year. Those two losses could not pull them down as they still had a good number of matches to play. Sachin is looking a real captain, I mean better than last year. Now if he is entrusted with the captaincy of the Team India he would be doing much much better when he was made the captain.

Hi krajibg, The performance of all franchisees in IPL this year is oscillating between good and bad. Only Mumbai Indians are comparatively stable in their performance. They have so far lost only 2 matches so far and looks good enough to come out triumph this year. As Sachin gets older he is improving in his captaincy capabilities, which he was lacking a few years back when he took over the captaincy of India.

Guys... You seriously think its good captaincy from Sachinnn....??? Guys...Its just luck... If you see the matches they won.... Most of the times its has been because of one guy bowling extremely well or a couple of batsman playing really well.... Never did sach showed the class that he has with the bat, with the captaincy.... He is a Legendary Batsman... Theres no doubt about that... But he is nowhere near a good captain... The only chance he got to show his captaincy skills, he couldn't do much but to lose to Kochiii....

Sachin and Rayudu setup this win for Mumbai Inidans. Others mainly Pollard and Rohit played cameos at the end to take MI to a competitive score. Kings XI was never really in the chase from the beginning especially after losing Gilli for a duck. Cheers! Ram

Rayudu appears to be most consistent and impressive batsman in IPL to day. He deserves a place in Indian side that is due to tour W.I. shortly. He started his carrier in impressive fashion but lost on the way after he joined I.C.L.. Hopefully he will see better days. He is a bright future prospect for India.

MI shrugged off the defeat they suffered against Rajasthan Royals in their previous match. They batted well, thanks to Sachin and Ambatti Rayadu for their half centuries. Malinga, Harbhajan and Munaf bowled well to restrict the Kings XI Punjab within 138 runs. They are missing star Indian batsmen and Valthaty and Gilchrist departed too early. Alone Shawn Marsh tried but it was much lesser than enough. Hope they can bounce back and get a place in the top four. Good Luck to them.

Anything can happen in cricket anytime! The game can change into a defeat or wonderable win even in last over of the match or last ball of the match, but last over matches are alway a thriller one and nice entertainer!

Mumbai is back on track again after their dismal performance against RR and i am really happy that the 'master' Sachin Tendulkkar has don the orange cap again. But if they want to win the IPL then they have to be top of their games against the top teams like CSK,KKR,RR and others.... On the other hand KXIP has lost yet another game.I think they depends too heavily on their top order to give them a good start and the middle order capitalise on that start like DD but unfortunately for the last couple of games their top order not really firing as they should do and their middle order is get under pressure.

Well.... To be frank the total posted by Mumbai wasn't all that imposing.. Its just that luck favored them in the bowling... And ofcourse no one except Valthaty and Marsh chipped in... One more performance as such by either of Gilli, Hussey, Dinesh Karthik or Abhishek Nayar would have won the game for them.... Its just that luck for now is favoring the Mumbai Indians... But my guess, they are gonna lose at some point in the tournament... Because at some point in time, luckmeter drops down and reaches zero....!!!

Hai msdivkar yes really Mumbai Indians win over Punjab take them to top of the table. When Mumbai Indians scored 159 for 5 commentators told that they were 15 runs short but Mumbai Indians came back strongly by taking Gilchrist in the first over and stopped Valthaty to score runs and in the end they scored only 136 runs so I feel if Mumbai scored around 145 runs they could have won the match with good bowling and fielding performance. And the most good news is that Sachin is again the highest run scorer.
