You ever notice that Microsoft does have a distinct pattern with their Windows 7. Ever other operating system is a flop at best. Windows XP was a good one, Vista was kind of a bomb, and Windows 7 really is not that bad, although there are still going to be people who cling onto XP to the bitter end. Windows 7 is one of the good ones and a distinct improvement in many ways but I just know that the one that comes after it is going to be a disappointment. Windows 98, Windows XP, and Windows 7 to me are the three best versions of Windows that came out over the past decade. Everything before 98, can't say, didn't use it that much, but the Windows that cam between each of them, really bad. We're due for another stinker coming up.

After I purchased Vista and got disappointed because it was downright crap I immediately switched back to XP. Then 7 came and Microsoft said it is way better than Vista so I tried it. It works fine, and an eye candy too, but the Ultimate version is way too expensive for me. So I switched back to XP. Then I realized sooner or later Microsoft is going to have to stop support for XP as they release newer operating systems. So now here I am using Ubuntu LTS 10.04 - It's looks good, runs good, less prone to viruses, and it's free. :)

I think really when you think about it, XP was going to be the high water mark of Microsoft. There are people who are still clinging on but the support is rapidly burning out and I believe that it is very close to being done. Then again, I know people who took a while to get off of Windows 98. Windows users are a curious lot a lot of the time. About fifty percent of them rush to the newest operating system, before all of the bugs are really worked out, and the other fifty percent refuse to upgrade until their hand is forced. Thanks for responding. Its appreciated. Have a nice day.

I have XP. But I don't change as so many bugs in the new ones...I'd wait till they all got worked out first. But I agree with what you say...there seems to be a pattern. I had W98 and that one was the bomb. It did everything and held up under everything and everyone liked it more that chocolate! My son had 98 on his for like 10 years, and only upgraded cause things started not being accepted by 98 anymore.
I have XP for 5 years now and it does fine for what I need/do. I went from 98 to ME and ME was not that great and no one liked it and all. I am a "computers for dummie" kind of person so I only can go by what I know and do. My daughter got Windows 2000 and that was a bomb. I have heard so much when XP jumped to Vista.... no one liked Vista, but that is what allt he new ones came with so there wasn't much a choice.
I am at windows 6 and upgraded to 7 but had so many problems, I went back to 6 and all is fine.
So it seems almost like every other change is good, and the others are bad! Go figure!
