If it is part of my job description then I will do it, but I will make sure that I get the recognition. If it is not a part of my job then I would let those who should be responsible for it. may be I will just remind them.

Hi there! This is a safe answer. My concern here is that how do you perform a task without looking as if you are bypassing someone else's responsbility? I feared of this situation: me looking like a climber or either him looking so inefficient.

It depends upon what i am going to do, its urgency, i do most things instanly, no need to wait, i tell you about feast i attened last week, it was near home, time fixed was 8pm, i went at 7.45pm, none were there, so i just set, i saw people coming, asking, hey none here yet, i will come bit later
If all will think similar, how can the feast start? it was a feast on a religious occassion, we were supposed to eat together..
Thanks for sharing
Enjoy life to fullest. Cheers.
BE HAPPY ALWAYS.

In my house we have clear cut responsibilites and everyone's personal space is diligently guarded. So, whatever the job is, say if some post arrives where action must be taken I would check whose post it is an d give it to the person. If it is a leakage of pipe etc,,. I will check with my husband and son if I should go about it or would the responsibilty be theirs. If it is something related to my Bank account or my personal finances I would have to do the work.If it is a household food problem, or kitchen item purchase , come what may I will have to do it.So, there is no question of acting on something without checking first.

If it is something important and needs to be done right away I will do it but if it can wait then O will wait and do it later, but I won't wait too long and won't keep putting it off I will get it done soon.

If it is appropriate, and within my capability, I generally take action and try to get whatever I can done. I believe it is important to always take initiative, and this can't really be a negative unless you are crossing a professional line or a personal boundary. For instance, if a coworker was specifically given a responsibility, task or project, before stepping in and taking care of something that has gone undone, simply eliminate any possibility of toes getting stepped on by honest, open communication. Just ask the coworker that you see that something has not been handled yet, and offer your assistance. Then they can accept or decline, and you act accordingly. In personal matters, if there is something that is not specifically designated as another person's responsibility, then it is fine to go ahead and take care of what needs to be done. An exception would be if it requires invading someone else's personal space or personal belongings, in which case, once again you should simply use honest, open communication and ask if the other person would like you to take care of the matter.

At home and at office I delegate jobs that can be done by others, but I monitor and guide them. That is the advantage of being the senior, I get to pull the rank. Jobs that need me to do are of course done by me, but one of the juniors is always there to learn.
Waiting is a habit that I have been trying to get rid of. The success has been limited, but improving.

Depending on what needs to be done, usually I am a hands on type of person and take on the situations on before I am told.
I normally work well alone so usually prefer to do things prior then when asked to. Although I can be a good team player too, so really it depends on what needs to be done.
