Well I had my gall badder removed today and everything went well. I am in a moderate amount of pain, mainly from the gas they used to "blow up" my stomach so they could work. I am hoping that I heal fast so I can help take care of my daughters. My husband has been so wonderful taking care of me and my girls. We went after to get my pain meds, and were a little nervous at first of how mush they might be since I don't have insurance but they weren't to bad so I was able to get them. My hubby got me some gingerale, and some soup broth. Moving around is still painful, but I am just trying to relax and not worry about to much. Glad that I had gotten everything done last night, the laundry, dishes, sweeping, and moping. So it should be alright until I am able to do things again. My mom is going to come out later this week, and his mom and sister are going to stop down to lend me a hand. It feels great to have people around me that can help me out.
Do you have people around you that can help you out when you need them? What is your best remedy to deal with pain?

hope you feel better soonest! i have had two c sections and a partial hysterectomy and my advice to you is be kind to yourself. cut yourself some slack and dont worry about stuff. it will still be here when you feel better and yes, my hubby has been pretty good for helping me when i am sick.

Many many years ago my mother and her twin sister both had to have their gall bladders removed and I am sure it was a much more... complicated process than what it is today.
I am sure there are going to be a few days of discomfort but after that you will be thankful for getting it done.
Thanks,
Zelo

Happy to hear that you surgery was a success. I am also happy to hear that you will have help during your recovery.
So far I have been well, but I do know that if need be my boyfriends family would immediately help me during any recovery times. They have been so helpful at other times and are such a loving family when it comes to helping others.

I had a Total Abdominal Histerectomy , many , many years ago. The operation went smoothly and has no pain. But when the anesthesia dissipated, the pain was intense. I would ask my husband if it is possible that i could be given pain killer again, but he said i have to wait for the nurse since it is not yet due.
My husband and my mother was so helpful in my recovery. It took me at least 3 days to bear the pain.
What i did to ease the pain, diverted my attention to watching tv.

i am hoping for your speedy recovery and i am also glad that your family is in full support for your healing. Take a good and long rest while the operation is still very recent.

It's good that you have help. When I had my gall bladder removed, I had no help and my daughter was 2 years and my son was 4 months old. It was a difficult time, but things have changed since then (this was 2006 when this happened).
Now, I have a loving husband and the kids are now 4 and 6 years old, and even they help where they can. I still can't take any prescription pain killers (my body can't process them and I end up throwing up), so I take ibuprofen and try to take it easy when I'm sick or in serious pain.

I wish for your speedy recovery.
It's good that you have your family supporting you and helping you out during this time of healing. I do have my family with me as well as my husband's family. When i gave birth to my son, his whole family was there in the hospital anticipating and waiting excitedly for the first baby in the family. His father lived with us for awhile and cook delicious food for us as i felt too weak to do anything and besides i can't cook. He spent most of the time with us to help us take care of our first baby as he thought that we were not capable of doing so, watching our every move.
It's great having our family around us in times of need.
